Thought this would be a good choice since the reviews praised seem very well but that wasn’t the case for me unfortunately. Got a cake for a friends special day and decided to go with Timothy’s. I asked for primary colors on a chocolate cake and for a pickup at 1. Day comes around I go in for my pickup. It is 2 o clock, an hour late and someone comes out asking if it’s for a boy or girl. Don’t know why this mattered since all I asked for was primary color confetti. Turns out they are still in the process of making my cake an hour late and I’m just sitting there because they keep saying it’ll be right out. Finally I get it and see it is rainbow colored. When I mention that it was supposed to be primary they say “yes this is primary rainbow colors.” Now for someone who decorates and does art, you’d think they’d know primary colors and rainbow colors are not the same. And if you failed basic color theory then a simple Google would show you rainbow is not the same. They still argued with me and insisted they were right, that those are primary colors. I tried to state it as a fact and to look it up but they didn’t care. My drive was 2 minutes and when I got home the cake collapsed. Straight drive no bumps. I’m not a cake maker so idk if it was just poorly put together or since it was rushed out late it didn’t have time to set . When I called and txt to ask about it they said manager Cathy would get back to me when they have time . That they are aware but have other deliveries. mind you I paid and technically the cake I paid for had still not been delivered . It’s Monday still no call so unfortunately it came to me having to leave me review and putting it on our social media. This place was a big let down on someone’s special day, the one thing you’d think they’d get right. Completely dropped the ball, go else where. Take a look at the photo for yourself, tell me if this is what you’d want for...
Read moreI was hesitant to provide this review due to loving Timothy’s Bakery for over 20 years. This was the spot to get delicious cakes. My mom loved the champagne cake and would order one for all family birthdays.
Ordering the cake was easy enough. I called it in since I am out of state. Person was pleasant on the phone. I asked for the price for a 1/2 sheet and was told it was $79.99. Wow. A bit pricey but it’s literally some of the best cake I have had so I figured it was worth it.
I was told when my family members went to pickup the cake, it wasn’t ready. They were told 2pm pickup when they went to pay for it a little more than a week earlier. When they arrived they were being asked questions about what colors and design to put on it (all stuff I mentioned on the phone when ordering).
I came down for my birthday and arrived to see a pretty decent looking cake. Nothing fancy but I don’t need fancy and I didn’t ask for fancy. Just some orange flowers and yellow sunflowers. There were no sunflowers but oh well, not anything worth losing a star over.
Then I tasted it. 1) If this was champagne cake, the champagne was unflavored. It lacked any flavor whatsoever. It tasted like regular white cake. 2)As for the cake consistency itself, it was the driest cake I have ever tasted. Grocery store cakes would blow this one out of the water. The filling (fresh strawberry) was pretty good but the quality of the cake as a whole was terrible.
Sadly, that was probably the last visit to Timothy’s I will make. My family is in agreement that it is probably best to avoid them moving forward. What a sad turnout to one of my favorite bakeries. For the price I expected a good cake and got edible icing...
Read moreConsidering we have known this bakery for years, it was a mistake ordering a birthday cake from them that was overpriced and the quality was not edible at all. I am positive they used salted butter in addition to adding salt in their butter cream or something went wrong with their butter cream recipe because this cake wasn’t even edible for one guest at our party. None of our guests ate their slices and we ended up not even cutting the rest. It was such an embarrassing moment that ruined our daughter’s birthday. The taste was completely bitter/super salty and the layers had little to no filling in between the cake. No chocolate mousse and no strawberry whipped filling, only tuxedo cake base (vanilla/chocolate swirl) Every couple cake slices had maybe one tiny mushy strawberry piece in it. I’m so disappointed in the quality of Timothy Bakery and how much it has dropped and the embarrassment we experienced trusting Timothy Bakery would make a good quality cake. Buying cupcakes from a grocery store would have been a better option because atleast it would have been an edible dessert for 20+ guests , very very...
