I love Krispy Kreme donuts immensely. I'd do way more for a KK glazed donut than a Klondike bar. Unfortunately, in my experience, this KK often does not have donuts. Glazed ones. Or jelly. Much less fresh ones.
This past weekend, I was very excited about the strawberry glazed promotion (buy one dozen, get a strawberry glazed dozen for $5). Tried Friday, and they didn't have any yet (despite the email I got saying promotion started already and was ongoing through weekend). They told me their manager was going to get supplies for it then and they'd have it starting Saturday. Returned on Sunday morning, and they didn't have them...pretty clear they never did. Nor did they honor any deal for buy one dozen, get another for $5. Nor did they have any jelly donuts.
In fact, the young employee was curt, unfriendly, and unapologetic. It was an unpleasant experience, and that has been the norm for my visits to this KK location for at least a few years now, which is why I have greatly reduced my visits (used to go weekly at least).
The last time I went to this KK before this promotion was just for a deal on glazed donuts......which they were out of.
The last time I went before that was St Patrick's Day for their green glazed donut promotion...which they didn't have. Thanks for letting me order and pay for them online all the same.
I do not mind that this location seems to operated largely by very young individuals, except they are not friendly or attentive to the customer, and they totally botched the dozen I got this past Sunday. Who's to blame for that awful handling?
I've tolerated the rudeness and unwelcoming-ness of the store while they were churning out hot, fresh, delicious melt-in-your-mouth donuts, but they don't do that reliably anymore. They lure me out with emails....and then they don't have what they advertised.
I called Krispy Kreme to complain, because frankly, I just want to be able to do the 45+ minute round-trip to get fresh glazed donuts reliably and without hassle. That isn't the case now and I'd like it to be again.
So, my recommendation to you is...if you get an email about a promotion, call ahead. And if there is a promotion and they actually have the product, I can almost guarantee they won't apply the discount unless you mention it and/or show them it on your phone. Be prepared!
Love you Krispy Kreme! Do not love you lately, this location. LMK if/when I can start going again without fear of there being a lack of donuts or friendly staff.
Regarding the dozen I got this Sunday...when they didn't have the strawberry glazed donuts on Sunday, I got 1 dozen glazed (wanted jelly, too, but they were out)...and wow, never had a worse packaged dozen. They were virtually GLUED to the box and had to be pried off. Check out the pic to see how much glaze they left behind! Definitely not how hot donuts are supposed to be handled, they needed to rest longer on the metal rack before going into a paper box.
Probably won't be returning to this location anytime soon. Hope I'm wrong and that KK straightens their act and gets the conveyor line of delicious donuts flowing again like it should and has.
Update 6/9/2025: I did contact Krispy Kreme over a week ago. Gave them all my contact info. While "we're sorry to hear that" is something, it neither fixes my losses nor give me any hope the problems are being addressed and remedied so I can come back. The person I spoke with gave me indication there were wider problems with these promotional donuts...and yet I'm getting multiple emails urging me to come in. For the love of melt-in-your-mouth glazed goodness, Krispy Kreme, get your act together here so I can come in/through/by, as I gladly would (often) if I had confidence the goods were there. My spate of experiences over weeks, months, years at this location has been sub-optimal. I've expressed my experiences and feedback in multiple forms (as have others) because I (we) take my (our) donuts seriously. The donuts in your shop, Krispy Kreme. Please...
Read moreI placed an order around 5:00 p.m. for a dozen donuts: 4 glazed, 4 pumpkin, 2 chocolate glazed, 2 strawberry sprinkle. The order was delivered, but I didn't check them because I was busy doing homework, which was stupid of me. After two hours or so, I decided I wanted a donut, but when I opened it, none of the pumpkin spice donuts were in the box. So, I called to get a refund. When I called, the girl who answered the phone was ignorant.
I explained everything to her, and she immediately asked, "So, the pumpkin spice maple pecan wasn't in the box?" I said, "No, none of the pumpkin spice donuts were in the box." I simply asked if she could refund me for the missing donuts. She then said, "You can come and get the donuts that are missing."
I placed the order for delivery for a reason. I do not have a vehicle to go pick up something that should have been in the box when it was delivered. I stated to her that I had no way of getting to the store to pick up my items. So, I asked again if I could be refunded for the missing donuts. She then said, "If you really want the donuts, I can get them sent to you." I said, "I don't mind you sending the donuts, what time do you close?" I asked this to ensure that if any further issues arise, I could call back to have them addressed.
She then screamed, "I'll just give you the refund." I was asking a simple question, and I tried to explain that, but she quickly said she processed the refund and hung up. She didn't give me much of an opportunity to talk before hanging up on me. So, I tried calling back, and she answered, "What? I already gave the refund" and "You keep calling back." I was trying to figure out why she was so upset and making it seem as if I lied about the donuts being missing.
My mother and sister heard everything that was said, and I quickly called customer service on another phone to let them hear her rude tone of voice. While she did give the refund, in the refund explanation notes section, she falsely stated that I was angry and refused the redelivery, insisting on a refund instead. Although she did offer redelivery, I didn't mind having the donuts sent again. However, when I inquired about the store's closing time, she avoided the question and mentioned that DoorDash, their delivery service, operates 24 hours. I clarified, "I was asking about the store," but she still didn't address the question and simply stated, "I'll send a refund." That was acceptable to me because I don't want to eat from a place where the workers display such attitudes despite choosing this job willingly.
Needless to say, that's the last time I'm ordering from Krispy Kreme. She was rude, and it seems like this isn't the first time people have experienced something like this. These people are bad...
Read moreIt was a very busy place with a long line all the way outside. That being said it was a nice visit to try out Krispy Kreme here in Catonsville. I'm happy to report that the contactless payments are accepted. They accept Samsung pay, Android pay, Apple pay. But the servers do not know how to enable it.
You have to instruct the cashier to either press debit or credit (I always choose credit) then the payment terminal will turn the NFC (Near Fringe Communication) in the terminal will turn on. JUST PLACE YOUR PHONE OR WATCH AGAINST THE SWIPE PORTION OF THE TERMINAL to make it work properly.
Although the line was long it was not a long wait for my order to be taken. There were adequately staffed for the opening days rush. All sorts of donuts were in display in an easy to decipher and labeled properly.
Although I was not asked to be given a sample (the survey asked when I was given a sample) I was familiar with the selections. The method of picking the donuts from the open transparent viewing area to see how the donuts were made and picked for the customer.
It seemed that the donut making machine is behind a see thru glass wall with Ample room to be entertained while standing in line. It made the line seem to move faster.
It is a great place to bring kids and see their eyes wide open with wonder on how the donuts are made.
The bathrooms of course are newly constructed as is with the whole store. But even at this busy stage it was well maintained. Let's see how long they can keep up the well maintained bathrooms.
The bathrooms have always been a point of mine to rate whenever I review a place to pair with the rating process. There nothing like visiting a clean bathroom after dining or snacking at a restaurant!
The donuts I received were hot off the conveyor belt. I picked the other types of donuts from the glass case. It costs $10.99 for a dozen.
I stayed in for awhile to watch the hustle and bustle ambiance of the place. I see Alot of parents bring their children to wow them with the donut "factory" see they had walls.
Now on the receipt if you fill out the survey I was told that validation code is written on the receipt, you will get a free dozen donuts the next time you come in! Simply buy one get one promo (BOGO)! So buy a dozen get a dozen free on your next visit!
Now that's a deal! I hope this review...
