Dining out will never be perfect, especially when you arrive to restaurants with a kids baseball team. From experience, we try to be as helpful as possible to the wait staff. Often we need to get in and out due to baseball game times. To make it easier, we call ahead & separate our checks w/ our kids jersey #'s. Today my son’s baseball team had lunch at Guston’s. While the food was good we will likely not return. We were recommended there for the food and went on short notice. We had a 6 hours between games and were not in a hurry. We had 10 adults & 12 kids in our party. I called the restaurant at 11:57am to let them know we’d arrive within 5 – 10 min.. Yes we understand that was short notice. When we arrived the staff began to put tables together. At that point we began experiencing poor service. 10 of 12 kids menus & NO adult menus provided - had to get them myself from the hostess stand. We ordered drinks and 1/2 of our order was never entered therefore we went to bar go get them ourselves. Wrote out our own orders and handed to waitress as drinks took so long and we needed to get our kids fed. All but one child's meal came. All were done eating when the last child got his food. A children's cheeseburger. Long wait for other 1/2 of our food order. Mine didn't come until I mentioned something to the manager and waitress 3 times. Had to get up to get our party napkins. 20 + minute wait for checks. While still waiting for the checks the manager came by and asked if we needed anything. I asked him if he was the manager and he introduced himself as Rick, the manager and chef. I had written down all of the challenges we experienced and relayed them to him. He apologized for the challenges and asked me for my notes to use as a training tool. I let him know I’d be happy to email them and he provided me with a business card including email. I let our server know that the restaurant should have provided her with additional help. She was clearly over her head and we had provided much of the service to ourselves. i.e. – getting menus, writing orders down, checking on drinks, food and checks multiple times. She stated that she is typically a hostess and serves as well. She mentioned that one of her colleagues was in the hospital and she was short staffed. I learned our servers name was Amanda from our check. I do not recall anyone wearing name tags nor ever telling us their names until asked. Long story short, We spent nearly 2.5 hours at the restaurant. We were charged for every item even if delivered after everyone was done eating and having to get our own drinks at times. The food was good and there were no complaints once received. I would not even consider writing a review given we are large group but this experience was just one disappointment after another. From reading the other reviews online I am assuming this was a rare occurrence. I hope the management/ ownership can use this as a training tool as the restaurants food is good. I would recommend sitting at the bar for quick service and good food however we will...
Read moreI've read many of the comments and I can see that it's a good mix of folks who love good food and have relatively reasonable standards. With that being said, I ordered take out of their fish and chips. When I arrived to pick up my food I didn't see any staff at the front door, however I did see a young man in a Braves jersey sitting to the right of what I believed to be a host stand. There was a hand written sign that directed all take out, orders to be picked up at the bar. The bar was at capacity with customers who looked like they were having a great time. I had to go to the entrance of the bar to get the server's attention that I was there to pick up my take out. It took about five seconds for her to notice me and ask if I was there to pick up an order and said my name. I said yes and she politely responded "I got you!" During the interaction the young man who had been sitting close to the front door came to the bar and asked the server if he could assist. He then grabbed my food and said "let me make sure we got your extra tartar sauce". He inspected the food and then said "let me toss a lemon in there for ya". He handed me my food and my bill and politely thanked me for coming in. I signed the bill, handed it to the server in which she responded very cheerfully "thank you for coming in". When I got the food home, there was more fish than I could eat so I shared it with my wife. It was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole meal. I give this detail to ensure the accuracy of my ONE experience. The building was dark and to the point of other comments, the dining room could probably use an update. It seems they are attempting to merge a pub with a sports bar. That's fine but I believe the merge turned into a crash and some design updates could be in order. All in all, great experience. It's convenient to where I live and the...
Read moreso my friend already left a whole review on yelp but i know people check google a lot so let me tell me about this, the worst experience ever. my friend has been bragging for MONTHS about karaoke night. shes been going since she was FIFTEEN!!! so we all go, and we’re all 18 minus our friend who is 17. they keep coming up to us saying we cant do it because we arent 21. and no sign ANYWHERE said we had to be 21. and then 10 hits and they straight kick us out. not even carding us or anything. this blonde girl, with the worst eyebrows in history, is getting all up in our face about the situation. we were as polite as we could be in our situation. we didnt argue, maybe asked a few questions but that was all. the food is okay and they people that work there are undeniably rude too. that blonde lady just put such a bad taste in our mouth. it said nowhere that we had to be 21 for this event they held every friday. we did not once ask for alcohol, but even if we did, they dont card. my friend (17) was able to stay back cause her mother was there (they said each and everyone in our party, which was like 10 people, had to be accompanied by our parents. so she was able to stay) and they let her take a shot!! not even carding any of us and kicked us out without even asking our age. i understand if we were rude and asking for alcohol and being just god awful customers, but we were so nice and respectful. the very few people we saw sing, we cheered everyone on and tried to make them confident. they didnt want us to feel welcome and were just rude people. also they kept coming up to us all night trying to kick us out, even before it was 9. 10/10 DO...
