I so wanted to give this place at least four stars, but I can’t. I LOVE bibimbap and was so excited when I did a search near my new house and found a place. Based on the reviews, I decided to try it tonight. It’s not horrible, but I won’t be going back. Two big things made me give it two stars. One, there was NO kimchi. What kind of Korean restaurant doesn’t add kimchi to bibimbap?! Two, the gouchujang wasn’t that great. The spiciness was good, but the flavor was lacking. It didn’t have the umami flavor in it. Once I added some kimchi (that I thankfully had in the fridge), sweet chili sauce, and fish sauce (for the umami), it wasn’t too bad. I can get better bibimbap at the cafeteria at my work. I know they’re a good cafeteria, but they shouldn’t be as good as a restaurant run by Koreans.
