I had to come back and modify my review from a 5 to a 3. This is a review on taste not on service or atmosphere which I still find great. I ate here on my first night after moving to Worcester and had the tilapia rad prik and found it very tasty. I went back a month or so later and had the tilapia again because I enjoyed it so much. Assuming I would have a similar experience with other dishes I decided to branch out to the pad thai and pineapple fried rice via take out. Granted this might have been because it was a takeout order but I generally have not had any problems with most Thai takeout so I must call this out. The pad Thai was pale. That is the noodles were white and had no flavor. It seemed as if the pad Thai sauce was poured over the noodles but somehow pooled in a corner of the container so I had a little bit of flavor there, but the rest was no good. The pineapple fried rice has patches of white rice dispersed throughout the dish as if the rice hadn't been thoroughly fried. It was blander than the pad Thai and was also pale. The rice was also soggy. I am used to colorful Thai dishes and that is part of the appeal so to have such decidedly pale dishes to consume was not ideal. I ate them both over the course of a few days but I did not enjoy them. I hope it was just a one off thing but at any rate ill stick to the rad prik and...
Read moreAfter searching quite a while for a place to eat, my partner and I decided on Basil n' Spice. We were pretty hungry upon entering because it took us so long to decide. We were greeted immediately and guided to a table. The waitress took our drink orders fairly quickly and subsequently, returned for our food orders. Both the drinks and the food took a fairly long time to arrive (drinks about 15 minutes, food about 35 minutes). However, once both arrived they were delicious. I ordered the basil and chili thai wok with tofu and my partner ordered the pad thai with pork. We both liked our dishes but agreed that mine was better. I really enjoyed mine but wished it was just a smidge less spicy. Overall, the food and drinks were very good but I disliked the wait time and the high-ish cost. I will likely return on a...
Read moreWent here a few times. First time was good. The next few times the food seemed "cheap". Like fast Thai food cheap. I've eaten a lot of Thai food from all around the world and one can tell the difference. The atmosphere is nice but the food quality and flavors are lacking.
Update- went back in winter of 2017 and the beef was rotten. Called them and told them about it and not to serve it to others. Saddened that this place didn’t turn out to be a go-to Thai food place.
I guess you can go here for the atmosphere but it is a small place to have a band, a bar, and a place for intimate dining. I think they are trying to be a lot of different places to as many people as possible. Hope the food gets better, but unfortunately I have given this place enough chances and won’t be going back. Will be going...
