While out and about doing some Christmas shopping, my daughter and I decided to stop here for lunch! Much to our delight, breakfast is served all day! Greeted and seated promptly by our server, Jamie, we admired the decor on our way to our table. She quickly returned to our table with beverages and menus. After perusing the menu for almost 10 minutes (intentionally) we finally decided on sharing an order of their loaded french fries as an appetizer. So glad we did! As you see in the picture they were beyond perfect! So many times you when you get loaded fries in most other establishments they are under cooked and over sauced. These were as close to a bowl of poutine that you can get ANYWHERE around here. Perfectly blended with a housemade creamy cheese sauce, real bacon bits and balanced with chopped onions. The fries remained crisp and tender all the way to the bottom of the bowl! For our entree we both decided on the Tips and Eggs. Well marinated, tender steak tips with eggs scrambled to perfection, homefries and gorgeous marble rye toast. We were not disappointed! Jamie was an absolute delight. Pleasant and attentive, she checked back often enough to top off our coffee but not to the point of annoying. At one point a man was circulating the room table to table to greet customers and make sure they were satisfied with their meals. Assuming he's one of the owners. In summary, City Line Diner will be on our regular stops for...
Read moreStopped in for a late breakfast on Sunday around noon. Although the place was pretty busy we were seated immediately. Our waitress was pretty friendly and welcoming. She clearly was used to the hustle as the place was booming and she managed things flawlessly. My buddy ordered a burger and fries which looked pretty decent. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla. They also have home fries or hash browns available but I went for the home fries. The quesadilla wasn't anything to speak of but the potatoes were my least favorite thing about this place. They were simply not done enough for my liking. They weren't nasty but I prefer my home fries crispy and these were anything but. After I already ordered, I noticed the waitress serving up a plate of chicken and waffles. Damn, had I known... She was nice enough to bring by a piece to try. Umm gooood lord! As I looked around, many of the other patrons clearly knew that there is a jewel hidden inside this unsuspecting eatery. I will be back ...for the chicken...

I usually come here for breakfast, but decided to get a burger on this visit because I couldn't fathom paying $16 for their "City Line" breakfast which consists of 2 bacon, 2 sausage, home fries and 2 pancakes or French toast.
As for the wait, it's usually busy between 9:30 and 11 so if you're ok with waiting up to 30 minutes, go for it. I wouldn't recommend waiting for this place though.
The only good thing about this place is the clean look and the portions which are a little on the crazy side. Chances are you'll pay for food that'll just go to waste.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's decent if it's not busy, but there are plenty of other places in the area that are...
