This is probably going to sound like a rant but I just have had many bad experiences at this Popeye's where it just solidified my decision to never spend money here ever again. In short I would not recommend people spend their money here.
So my girl and I wanted to go here because we haven't had them in a while. When I arrived, my girl asked if we are going through drive thru and I said no because the person on the drive thru is always rude and has an attitude. We parked in the lot next to the drive through and I saw a sign that had a promotion for the 9 piece family meal for $26.99 and my girl said that we could do that when I read it out to her. So I figured since we know what we want, it would be easy to just order through drive thru so I just hopped in since no one was there taking the chance. When I told the girl through drive thru that I wanted the 9 piece, she told me that they didn't have it because it's not on the menu and every time I tried telling the lady that the sign in the drive through said that it was a 9 piece chicken or tenders meal with 2 sides and 4 biscuits for 26 bucks, she would cut me off and give me an attitude and tell me that they only had a 9 piece that doesn't come with anything. I then reiterated the sign telling her that there was a sign that I am looking at and she interrupted me again with heavy breathing as if I was bothering her and told me that there was no such thing on the menu. I told her that I was just going to come inside from the drive thru. I took the sign off of the drive thru so that I could verify if what was on the sign was actually being served. When I got inside, I asked a gentlemen that also had a drive thru headset on if they were serving what was on the sign. He looked at it and told me that they were serving that. I told him that the lady in the drive thru said that this isn't being served and he pointed at the same sign that was hanging inside the lobby which confirmed that it was being served. I just said okay, gave the gentlemen the signage back and did not bother to give this establishment my money because it seems that the staff only hires bodies and rewards bad behavior with a paycheck.
If a customer is telling an employee that there is an advertisement and that they want that advertisement, the merchant is suppose to honor that advertisement because it is being displayed. There seems to be a lack of communication skills and customer service skill at this location. I decided not to give this location my money because of the attitude that I had received. I have had many bad experiences at this place and I would advise that any customer that comes to this location to reconsider spending your hard earned money here. I have had many instances where I was greeted with poor attitude in this location whether it was through drive thru or within the dinning area. I do not understand how a majority of the employees get hired but it is clear that they just want bodies in the door where their hiring process should be who is qualified to provide customer service. Save your money and support a local mom and pop shop. It might be a little more expensive, it might not but they would provide better welcoming customer experience than this Popeye's located in Worcester. 0 star rating if I could but people need to at least know that if they are going to this location, expect attitude and expect them to mess up your order by not giving you items or giving you the completely wring item and when you ask them to fix it, they give you attitude and try telling you that what you ordered is what they gave you so that they do not have to fix their mess ups. Popeye's do better, hire qualified people that have a sense of pride for the work that they do and probably pay them...
Read moreIf you liked fried chicken with a kick, Popeye's is a pretty good choice...served Cajun style. However, I will say that the service could certainly use improvement. We went to the drive thru yesterday & waited at least 5/6 minutes before an employee even spoke to us on the speaker. Then when we ordered, she kept interrupting us & had a very hard time taking our order. When we asked for the 6 piece chicken nugget kid's meal, she said we only have 4 piece, even though it showed either 4 or 6 on the menu, she later realized that she was wrong. Then, we asked for a strawberry biscuit, and she tried saying they came with the meal, because she was talking over us, and only heard the biscuit part, not realizing that we had requested a strawberry one, which do not come with any meals. Then my friend asked for two sides, and she continued saying that only one came with the meal, which we were aware of, and still wanted to add the second side, because he wanted both mashed potatoes & coleslaw. I think if she spoke less & tried not to interrupt as much, she'd probably have an easier time understanding what we were asking for. Then we tried to pay with a $100 bill, which should have been accepted, because we had roughly $50 worth of food, so this didn't require much change. However, I understand that this wasn't necessarily their fault. We didn't receive any utensils with our order, which included several meals & sides that cannot be eaten with your hands, such as the coleslaw & mashed potatoes/gravy. They also didn't give us a single napkin in the bag, come on now + they forgot the coleslaw, but charged us for it. Another thing that I found odd was that they only offered a choice of two beverages, sweet tea or fruit punch. Most fast food restaurants have more variety. Luckily we didn't mind the drink choices, but others may have other preferences, such as soda or coffee, etc. My biggest complaint is the talking while we were trying to place our (large) order. It was very distracting & made it difficult to let them know what we needed. I highly recommend retraining drive thru staff. I know they have to ask questions, but they should not interrupt customers constantly during orders. This makes communication tough & increases the risk of inaccurate orders. When customers are ordering for several people (we had 4 adults, 1 child) it helps to have staff be more attentive & patient. Luckily, we did go back with our receipt & they did give us the forgotten coleslaw. Just a reminder as well: please try to remember to include both napkins & utensils in the bag with each order! It's inconvenient to have to go back, especially after a long wait. You may also want to post a sign about preferring small bills. This way customers can use an ATM if needed before ordering! Not everyone has credit cards. The food however was satisfactory. The parking lot could use a little tlc, it was...
Read moreThis review is for everyone who does not usually eat at Popeyes but is curious about all of the buzz with the new chicken sandwiches and how they compare to Chik-Fil-A. Short review is the sandwiches are delicious but the service and restaurant are both disgusting - at least this location and the one I stopped at in Western Mass. Chik-Fil-A is an amazing restaurant with friendliness and service that’s unmatched, clean stores and good food but I have to give the nod to Popeyes for the better sandwich. This Popeyes location is very dirty and the service is horrible so I really wanted to dislike the sandwich - but I loved it. So did my family, we all like the competition but agreed that Popeyes has the better sandwich.
I’ve been to a few other Popeyes locations (Providence Mall and a couple of airports) and the service and food has always been OK; decent fast food when that’s what you’re looking for. I wanted to try this new sandwich so I went out of my way to grab a few for the family. Despite no one in front of me at the drive through I had to wait five minutes. The guy just said “wait” and went away. Weird. There was trash outside the building, a rat trap near the back door and the place seemed run down despite looking decent from from the street. The guy who took my order screwed it up twice. I asked for two spicy chickens and two regular but they were all regular. I ordered four sandwiches total but got three. He was impolite and seemed put out that I was a customer. It was weird. For those who know Seinfeld it reminded me of the “Soup Nazi” - where you suffer for your soup, or in this case, your sandwich. First world problems for sure. The sandwich was delicious; fresh bun, tasty sauce, pickles and a large, crispy piece of fried chicken inside.
It’s not worth waiting for food here and I’ll stick with Chik-Fil-A because they are the gold standard for fast food with their cleanliness, friendly staff and great food. However, if I ever have an opportunity to eat another Popeyes chicken sandwich, hell ya’ -...
