Tacos Mexico — Restaurant in Worcester

I watched a stream of people walk into the mall where this counter service place is located, order food, enjoy it, and walk out without even shopping. After trying several dishes, I understand why. I was floored by the quality of the food. Tacos, tamales, and salsas all had that just-prepared taste and were packed with robust flavors. The gordita was like nothing I've ever tasted before, a monstrous perfect dumpling of meat, cheese and veggies glazed with tangy, spicy salsa. Better yet, the service was remarkable. The owner/operators smiled at every guest who came and each transaction had an air of geniality to it that makes one feel welcome as a friend. I will be traveling to Worcester frequently in the coming months and I am happy to say that I will gladly return to to Tacos Mexico...

First off, the food was great. It tasted good and looked good. The server was nice and respectful, and we got our food relatively fast. However, no soap in the bathroom, toilet paper and paper towels weren't even attached to their dispensers, and what drove me to actually writing this review is that they forcibly placed a tip on the bill without notifying us at all. We were a group of 3 with a total bill of $34 for a good lunch but they wrote $42 meaning they either tried to pull one on us for some extra cash, or the server genuinely thought he always deserves a 20% tip. Either way, this is not acceptable. Worst thing is, it wasn't until we left and PAID $50 IN CASH (because of the ADDED ON 20%) when we realized this, so whoever the server is: I hope you're happy with that...

The food was FANTASTIC, service horrible. We came in before another table and was way served after. They got their food, drinks, etc significantly all before we did. They were also checked up on & received additional drinks. We got some chips n "salsa, had our food & drinks order taken, then waited about 20 mins for 2 of our 3 meals. It was just fajitas & it took them 40 mins! Not once were we checked up on, apologized to, or anything. After we all finished she came to ask if everything was ok....we were done ssooo.....yeah. Sat longer, finally got our check, and we were out shortly after. Although the service was terrible, the food was authentic & really good! We are willing to give them another chance, just bc the food...
