El Chavis Taquizas — Restaurant in Worth Township

Really good food! I live up the street. I use to go here all the time. It was an older lady who typically was there, she was so sweet! Great customer service hospitality. I moved a month ago and recently went back; it’s a Young girl who works there now. She has a terrible attitude! She didn’t greet me when i came in and she kept snatching the money out of my hand! My mom called me to get her food too so I had to place a separate order. She saw me standing at the register trying to place an order and she never came over for like 4 mins. She wasn’t doing anything else like packing up an order, cooking, etc. then when she did give me my second order she only gave me one sauce unlike my first order that she gave me 2 sauces. I asked for a green sauce (missing from my bag) for my second order and she asked me if I wanted to exchange the one red sauce for a green one and I’m like no i only have one sauce. She gave me a hard time with giving an extra sauce. I’ve been going there for over 2 years but from the new lady and experience alone unfortunately I won’t be back! I threw a surprise party for my mother on June 29th, 2023 and we had beef tacos, chicken tacos along with corn, rice and beans with various salsa's. 24 hours after the party we had approximately 15 who became sick with violent diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea. Thank God no one had to go to the hospital. It lasted about a day. We narrowed it down to the rice and beans cause everyone who did not eat the rice and beans was ok but the people who did eat the beans and rice got very sick. When I spoke to Salvador who is the one in charge of the catering he basically said to sue him and he did not want to reimburse us for anything. He stated that he has insurance and to sue him. He refused to give me the number of his insurance company and basically did not care that his restaurant could have killed people with food poisening. Very disappointed. The tacos did taste good though. There food truck was a really dirty creepy white van that was unsightly at the party. I even tipped the cook 100 dollars just to be a blessing. If I were you I would not eat here or do catering here. My mother's birthday was ruined by her getting food poisening...

When I hit this spot I normally go for the tacos and, mainly, the burritos. The meal for me is great but I have a couple of complaints. I tend to enjoy the sides, rice and beans when I order a meal to go. The problem I have is they only give four tablespoons of rice and four tablespoons of beans for $2 per side. I'm sorry, but that price is too steep for the serving received and I've never gone to a Mexican restaurant that give so little sides. They are literally the cheapest food on the menu in which you can get an abundance of anywhere else. My second complaint, which is my biggest, is that I ordered a taco salad with ground beef and the ground beef is a different ground beef than the one I had when I first ordered a taco salad from here. I don't like different styles of ground beef I didn't ask for. Please, don't serve me cow tongue or any part of a cow that isn't just regular ground beef one would use to make a burger. I did not enjoy that at all. Beyond that, I enjoy the food from here. I definitely want to try...
