The customer service chick that was helping me and security guard were being hella weird, almost borderline discriminatory/racist towards me!! They basically was accusing me of trying to return a bad speaker because the Boom 3 speaker I literally just purchased minutes before going to customer service to exchange and upgrade to a JBL speaker, which cost more by the way; apparently, the serial number on the Boom 3 speaker didn’t match the box. So they trying to deny me the return!
It made me feel extremely disappointed, and the customer service chick just immediately went into the judgemental mindset, never apologize for her and the security guard mistake, never reassured me that they just needed to make sure everything was good and no one apologize for any inconvenience, just automatically treated me like a criminal!
It didn’t make any sense because I literally stood in electronics and opened up the box to test the sound after I purchased it, but it was a newer employee there, after the lady checked me out, and he suggested that the JBL was better, so he grab one for me, walked me to customer service, pointed me out to the service employee, but a different person came to help, so it complicated everything.
Luckily everything did turn out fine but I beyond don’t appreciate that. I may never shop at the Oak Lawn Target Store again! Very unfortunate unpleasant experience!
AND the chick that was helping me, got an attitude with me!! And I do not appreciate her ignorance and negative energy and assuming and accusing me of false allegation!!
I really deserve an apology and $100 Target gift card!!
Overall, the two employees from electronics were cool and great! The one other employee I asked a question, because I felt beyond uncomfortable to even walk the store and go back to electronics to test out the JBL radio; I asked if I could go back there, she was nice!
But overall, the fact the customer service chick and security guard/cop made me feel like a criminal and I felt so uncomfortable to even walk back through the store, I am completely hurt! You will probably never see me there again! Which I’m sure that was the goal to make someone like me feel :-(

Read moreI paid a visit to this target on 5/12, late afternoon/early evening. I needed some groceries, and wanted to browse the clothing section for some new summer wardrobe editions. the shopping itself went swimmingly…I found everything I needed and more! it was my checkout experience that really put a damper on things. I kindly greeted my cashier, asking how she was doing and so on. I politely asked if she could let me know my total before adding the last t-shirt I had in my cart. she told me my total was $80 something, I can’t remember the exact amount, but nonetheless, that last t-shirt would have sent me over my personal $100 budget, so again, I politely asked if she could please put the t-shirt back for me. apparently that request upset her for whatever reason, because she snatched the t-shirt from my hands and rolled her eyes. I was VERY taken aback, as I’d been nothing but friendly. and to make matters worse, as I finished paying and turned to grab my bags, I stood there completely stunned. I had to have had AT LEAST 20 items, and she had bagged EVERY. SINGLE. ITEM. SEPARATELY. I immediately request a big bag, and once again, this request upset her, and she proceeded to roll her eyes, snatch the bag, and wave it out to me in a condescending manner. VERY taken aback, I take the bag from her, and proceed to re-bag my own items. As I’m re-bagging, she simply stares at me with her arms crossed. No apology, no offer to help, no anything. Just rudely staring. I felt massively uncomfortable and hurried out of the store. I made sure to take a good look at her nametag…Her name was Griselda. Now, I’m not sure if previous customers had been mean to her, or if she was having a bad day, but nonetheless, her own frustrations should never be taken out on a customer, and her behavior during my checkout was completely unacceptable. I did not feel welcomed or appreciated, and what was a successful shopping trip was unfortunately soured. Honestly, the only reason I’m even rating 2 stars instead of 1 is because I did take the time to complete the customer service survey at the bottom of my receipt, and a team lead has promptly reached out to me to attempt and rectify...
Read moreThis is usually my go to target but I won't be back to this location after today- and strongly considering using Amazon, Ross, Burlington or walmart for some of my needs instead.
I used the self checkout line to purchase several items, as many of us do, I spend hundreds in target each month. One of the items was an electronic item and upon leaving I noticed the security tag still on it. Decided to take it to CS to have it removed rather than going back to electronics.
First of all the CS line is always ridiculously long as there is always ONE team member man handling this desk, but ok whatever- so I wait. There was a young white lady in front of me. When she approached the counter she asked for a pair of scissors for her sun glasses. The team member said "sure" and gave her the scissors without hesitation. He then motioned for me to step up. I stated hello I just came from self checkout (I still had all of my bags in my hands) and noticed the security tag still intact are you able to remove this? He said sure do you have your receipt, I was hesitant but like ok yes and gave it to him. I asked him if he had asked the other young lady for her receipt and he sort of laughed nervously, but it was a serious question. I knew he hadn't. He reviewed my receipt Extensively and finally removed the security tag.
I was so disgusted by the transaction I went to my car put my items up, and came back into the store to make a complaint.
I'm sure this is NOT what target advertises when they talk about DEI initiatives but I assume it looks good on paper to talk about it but not actively...
