Went yesterday with family group. Noticed table signs that no food returned for any reason unless restaurant made a mistake. And even that doesn't hold true. My bro ordered steak and Egg/Omlette meal and was asked how he wanted good eggs. "Scrambled with cheese". What he got was steak and omlette w/o cheese. When waitress was reminded that eggs were to be Scrambled with cheese she said they couldn't be returned. When asked if she could just chop the egg up and add the cheese, again he was told no. By now the steak is cold. You already know the entire meal went be replaced so he decline the entire meal... again over $1 worth of eggs! Meanwhile, mngr working the bar does nothing to promote goodwill and customer satisfaction.
I know inflation exists but $4.00 for an egg?đł Egg prices have gone back down to $2 dozen or less & wholesale is even less. That's .16 an egg, so why are eggs still $4 eađ¤? Ridiculous (IMO).
Wing with the chicken and waffles are about to be renamed to pigeon and waffles if the wings get any smaller. Yep, i know you can't control what's in the supply order, but maybe try ordering the jumbo wings instead of the small wings. Sure you get more per pound with small but customers would enjoy at least standard size wings or find a new supplier. It's messing up your business.
Grits are about the cheapest product to make with the highest return, once you toss in 3 shrimp and call it shrimp and grits. But how do they go from $18 to $30 frk'n dollarsđ¤Ż! WTH!! Even at the current price of shrimp, that's almost $10 for each of the 3 shrimp. Then have the never to change serving bowl with less food!đ˛
May as well address those online menu prices that you KNOW are wrong. But instead of updating to reflect the current prices, you leave in incorrect then surprise your customers with the current inflated prices. Now is that isn't sneaky and bad business, what is it?
And yep, even though that steak meal was declined, it still ended up on the bill even though the mistake was the restaurants fault!
Yeah, we say 'support ourown, but at what cost? The mindset of seeing how much people will pay vs how much you should charge, never works out for the customer. Instead of selling more for less, you sell less for more. People will come, like the food and the ambience, until enough realize inflation and fleecing aren't the same thing. Then it'll be another black owned business needlessly closing its doors, because financial greed ruins everything! And...
Read moreMy wife visited this restaurant once before and wanted to order takeout. She was unable to contact the restaurant because they donât have a number listed, so I drove there to order takeout. Once I parked and walked in I was immediately greeted with hostility by the young individual at the counter. I asked to order shrimp and grits to go. The young individual at the counter informed me the restaurant does not do to go orders after 11am. Naturally I was confused because they just opened at 10am and it was 11:15am on a Monday and the restaurant was empty. I replied âthank youâ and left the restaurant. This left my wife disappointed. Nonetheless, I was determined to get her what she wanted and decided to try again today (Wednesday). This time she was able to find a number and called to inquire if theyâre doing to go orders. The person on the phone stated âyes, but you have to come inâ. She relayed the information to me and I decided to stop by after work and try again. I parked and walked in. This time I was greeted by a different person who was nice and polite. I requested an order to go. This individual asked me to hold on one moment and approached the person that was rude to me last time. Once they came back I was told âweâre not doing to go orders today because weâre short staffedâ at this point Iâm unsure of how to respond because my wife was told a few moments before that in order to place an order I had to come in. In addition to that the restaurant was relatively full with people enjoying their food and drinks. I replied with âOk. Weâll can I have a table and order the shrimp and grits and take it to goâ as I looked in the direction of 2 open tables. The individual again asked for a moment and approached the person that was rude to me before. This time the rude person, visibly agitated, walked up to me and said I canât do that. I responded with âPlease help me understand. I canât place a to go order and I canât sit and order and take it to go?â The rude individual replied âno you canâtâ. I thanked them and left the restaurant. Unfortunately I would never return to this restaurant and if I could give zero...
Read moreUnfortunately, my recent visit to Love on the Blue was extremely disappointing. This restaurant has declined significantly in both service and quality.
To start, we were given bottled water to pour ourselves â which was fine, except the first bottle had visible mold and black residue around the cap. I had to request a replacement after attempting to wipe it clean, which was already unsettling.
My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, while I chose the Original Breakfast with the French toast flight. The food came out fairly quickly, but that's where the positives ended. My bacon was unusually soggy â unlike anything Iâve ever been served â so I asked for it to be cooked a little more. The staff member who brought it back seemed visibly annoyed and asked me, rather aggressively, "how exactly do you expect your bacon?" That attitude was completely uncalled for.
The French toast was also a letdown: soggy and drenched in watery syrup, making the bread nearly inedible. I didnât bother sending it back and just ate what I could. Ironically, the bacon wasnât returned to our table until after we had finished our meal and the dishes were cleared â long past the point of being useful. I didnât touch it and expected it to be removed from my bill, but it wasnât.
Our drinks didnât arrive until we were already finished eating. I asked to swap mine because it tasted awful, and when I politely asked a nearby waitress (who was sitting at the bar) if she could get the bartender for me, she looked me up and down and said, "Um, no, Iâm not your waitress. If you want something, ask your waiter." This was confusing because moments later, that same waitress cleared items from our table and was later seen sitting with guests, taking shots with them at the bar.
Overall, this place was chaotic, unprofessional, and a far cry from the quality I once expected. The service was disorganized, the staff lacked basic courtesy, and the food quality was poor. I wouldnât recommend Love on the Blue to anyone. Itâs become incredibly unrefined, and the management needs to take a hard look at the staff...
