We came to the restaurant for a special birthday celebration with high expectations, especially given the upscale vibe and the fact that our dinner totaled over $600. While the food itself was generally good, the overall experience was disappointing and far below what we were expecting.
The atmosphere was extremely loud — to the point where we could barely hear each other across the table. It made meaningful conversation difficult and took away from the celebratory mood. For a restaurant that presents itself as an upscale dining experience, the noise level felt more like a crowded cafeteria.
Service was a major letdown. Despite having multiple servers, we found ourselves getting up to serve items or manage things on our own. The head server, Fatima, stood by most of the evening, chewing gum the entire time, and made little effort to engage with or assist our table. It came across as inattentive and unprofessional, especially for a group that waited over an hour for a special occasion.
We had arranged in advance for a surprise birthday cake and candle, with clear instructions to keep it off the main bill to preserve the surprise. Not only was it added to the bill — which ruined the moment — but when the cake was finally brought out, there was no coordination. Half our group had stepped away, and the birthday guest ended up sitting alone during what should have been the highlight of the evening.
To top it off, we were rushed out by the manager toward the end of our meal. It was clear they were eager to turn over the table, even though we were still finishing up. The manager made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests, saying they had other parties waiting. After spending over $600, we did not expect to be pushed out like that.
Overall, while the food was good, the service, environment, and treatment we received made for a disappointing evening. We hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and makes changes — especially when it comes to how they handle special occasions and treat...
Read moreI’ve been here previously but entirely forgot to leave a review, so this is my take on an unbiased opinion. Visit began with a hourlong wait which although I didn’t want to wait around, the place was packed and there were plenty of little background processes you could watch like the interesting kunafah heater or the coffee bar. I will say the wait can be skipped by having a reservation, but I’m not sure if they have reservations open right now. Following our wait, we were guided to our tables and our waiter Osaid was very nice (If you find this Osaid, tysm) and helped us order. We had to wait a tiny bit more since the place was absolutely PACKED, which is justified. We started off with hummus and baba ghanouj with some really good bread and the little grape leaves with rice in them and that was followed by a panini made with (presumably) pita. After this we had some fries and the main which was a grilled chicken in our case and some brisket. They were very accommodating when we said we wanted rice since the brisket came as only a sandwich, and once again, Osaid helped us out. Overall, I was aiming for the ribs or the neck but clearly since it was a weekend, almost all the smoked items were not available but disregarding that, the meat was tender and very nice and the rice for all the dishes was also very nice. Overall, this place has some very good food and a very nice ambiance with the decor and Palestinian hints like the olive trees inside (although fake, ya can’t have a real tree now can ya?) and the little cubby near the entry with all the cool bits of decor. They was also a man offering qahwah and just overall the feel and food in this restaurant is oddly surreal. The only thing is with the popularity comes a lot of people which leads to long wait times but the end result is quite worth it. To the people at M’dakhan, yall are killing it out here and I hope you keep at it. 9.5/10, Definitely would visit...
Read moreWe stopped by yesterday for dinner. I invited my sister and her family to join me and my husband for dinner at the restaurant. The waitresses came, Mohammed He was very polite and considerate. He brought the bread, Unfortunately, there were three out of five of the bread was overcooked and had a black color. I have to ask him about the bread and I pulled that to his Attention. They are burned. What he did was give me the look. Unfortunately, that was not the response I was expecting. Not even apologizing and offering to bring another bread that is not burned. We ordered Two plates of Keba, And we Thought they could be better taste-wise. Furthermore, We ordered Fattoush and Tableau and they were right on the spot. The hummus And baba ghanouj were presented beautifully and tasted great. The main dish was the large size of a mix grilled. We thought the Kebab balls were interesting In shape and the test was OK. When we ordered the teapot with the mint leaves, it took a very long time to come in and it was NOT tasty at all. We had met that night, the owner of the restaurant and at the same time he’s the owner of the nuthouse. Later on, we met the second owner of the Restaurant where he Used to work in Al Bawadi restaurant. I believe this restaurant it’s in new and they are trying to figure out how to present at the best level.
There is quality food and a great presentation of the dishes. This is my third time coming into this restaurant. The second time I had the waiter's name, Noor Dean, and he provided my husband, and me with an outstanding visit, When I entered my third visit which was last night, I asked for him, but they said to me that his section is not the same. I will be dining in. I wish the best to the both owners and the...
