I came here back in July from Detroit for a bday celebration and noticed that they had there own Whiskey and said that I would return to purchase some of the Whiskey. I sat at the bar the (Caucasian) bartender looked over for several times before offering to help me and when she did it was very dry and not pleasant at all. I asked a question regarding the Whiskey bottle purchase I asked about the flavors and asked for a list she came back and said that there wasn't a list but there $60 a bottle I didn't ask about the price and once she walked away she went to the hostess stand and stated something to the host and the host looked right at me and I received what she stated that they didn't have and the was a whisky lost. I got food and she never gave me silverware no refill on my water anything this is the worse treatment ever especially being a out of town guest. Hate when you have to bring race to the table but today was the day....it's sad that being mistreated because of color is still real.....I will not be back and I hope someone reads this and don't have to experience what I did today. 9.28.28 after reviewing the response from the owner I would to say I’m a professional I go around the states as a Restaurant Critic and I do this as a living no need to lie or bruise anyone character but your staff was very rude and unprofessional I TAPED the complete time that I was there for our records and as far a the people of color around us there were only two a young lady next to me name Stephanie that I didn’t know a man next to me the other two behind me had just sat down so your truth is not true at all. If I had gotten permission from these customers to post there photos and audio I would have done so. And to top it off I paid $180 plus and that was including a $36 tip gratuity to a young lady that was nasty to me now tell me how is that fair yeah it’s not. so take your lies and swallow them because your establishment has just been RATED in magazines around the country and the information above. WE ARE CRITICS and this is what we do. You never know who your gonna come in contact with. And s far as the bourbon we rated it a 3 we have had better around the world it needs work. THATS THE TRUTH AND I STAND 10 toes down...
Read moreI had a similar AWFUL experience on Mother’s Day!! We booked a reservation a month in advance and when booking there were 2 options, pay for the buffet at $60 pp or reserve a table and order off the menu. I opted to reserve the table because not 1 of us is eating $60 worth of breakfast, even with drinks. So we get there yesterday, check-in at the time of our reservation and were told to wait. While waiting we are standing there watching people at the buffet, coughing all over the food, not being mindful of others etc. and Im thinking, Thank God we did not select the buffet option. I also noticed there were people being served that were not dressed according to their dress code. Then several people start complaining to the hostess about their reservation. I could not hear the full conversation, all I heard was a customer say, “thats not our fault that open table messed up”. I didn’t think much of it until we were seated. We get seated and realize our menus are only drink menus. The waitress comes and tells us no food menus today and that it’s buffet ONLY. I was shocked. I told her, no, we made a table reservation, not buffet. I then went to the hostess and asked why would they take table reservations and not alert us in advance that today was buffet only? She said that it was open tables fault and shrugged her shoulders. My mother was not having it and said, lets go!! Luckily, Im resourceful and Googled breakfast places (my mom is 73 and does not use Google lol) This could’ve ruined our Mother’s Day, however I found An Original Pancake house literally in the next parking lot over. It wasn’t super crowded, we were seated immediately and the food was amazing. I do think the management staff at Barrel Club could’ve handled the situation better. Blaming Open Table makes your business look bad. You should’ve offered the buffet 1/2 off to the people who booked a table!! Its Mothers Day…why would you stress us out more on our day?? This establishment is run horribly and I will NEVER give them my business. Go to Original Pancake house if you want great service and...
Read moreUpdate!! 3rd time going and was thoroughly disappointed. Went for dinner , service was S L O W, the waiter was pleasant. The drinks were horrible we had three of the 3 drink samplers between the 4 of us and no one tasted or felt the slightest kick they just weren't very flavorful. The food was just okay. The waiter informed us there were different chef's for breakfast, brunch and dinner as well as a different menu and we could definitely tell. It was definitely an off night , the one thing that was enjoyed by our group was the apple tart & ice cream. It was appealing to look at and equally tasty. Lastly our bill was ridiculous especially for what we ordered. The prices were for downtown food and services not for neighborhood eatery. Won't be visiting again anytime soon.
2nd time going here and was not disappointed. My sisters and I arrived at the tail end of Saturday brunch. The hostess was rude and didn't want to accommodate us, but that changed once she saw we weren't leaving and there were staff ready to serve us. We sat down and immediately greeted by Ken an absolutely phenomenal waiter. He was efficient, welcoming, professional and friendly. We were limited in our choices because brunch was ending and lunch wasn't for another hour & a half. Ken made some suggestions onevof which was the chicken & waffles. The chicken was perfection, the waffles were good but even without syrup they were sweet enough on their own. The chicken was hot the waffles were barley warm but still tasty. Some had the biscuits and gravy it was okay, the tempura shrimp, the potatoes and bacon were awesome. We didn't sample any beverages because of time, but definitely looking forward to attending brunch again, and hopefully getting Ken as our waiter. $100 bucks for 3 ppl with no beverages...
