Skillet House — Restaurant in Worth Township

Worst experience here today! Ordered my usual Eggs Benedict; first egg was perfect. I cut into the second one and it’s well done. I call my server over and she asked if I want it warmed up and I explained that’s not the problem, it’s well done, no runny yolk and I showed her. I let her know the other half was perfect.

A few minutes later the guy behind the counter brings me out a two poached eggs in a cup. (Most restaurants would have done a remake but not a big deal as I still have my muffin half and Canadian bacon.) I asked him if I could have a little hollandaise sauce which is served on top of the egg. He brings a cup (lieterally) of it out. I use one the eggs, a spoon of the hollandaise and finish my meal. At this point I’m all good, mistakes happen, problem was remedied, life is good. My server brings my bill and I noticed there an additional up charge of a few bucks for hollandaise. If I had ordered extra of something, I would understand the charge and it would not be an issue. I bring this to her attention and she says to talk to the guy behind the counter, he rings up the orders.

I explained the situation to guy behind the counter. His reply was I brought it out to you so I have to charge you for it, that’s our policy. I said that would not have been necessary had my order been cooked properly; one egg was perfect, the other well done. His response was “we made you two poached eggs, that’s our policy, I’m going to ask that you never come back here again since you’re not satisfied with our cooking!” (His other poached egg was still on the table) LOL It’s not about the $ it’s about the principle.

OMG - talk about unbelievable! You better not complain here as this is how you will be treated! Piss poor customer service when it’s their screw up! Servers here pleasant & nice! Management sucks!

I usually dine here every weekend without incident. Needless to say this will be the last time! I wouldn’t give another penny to this rude person! Needs to learn a thing or two about being a decent human and about GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Place is tiny. You’re literally sitting inches away from other diners. Servers cannot walk around tables place...

My husband and I have been to the Skilllet House numerous times. Although the food is good, they invariably screw up my order. If I order a skiller with light onions, it comes with a ton of onions. The last time, I ordered a Belgium waffle with just a tiny bit of whipped cream. It was delivered covered in whipped cream. I asked the waitress for a plate to scrape it off (because she didn't offer to fix it). It took her a few minutes to get the plate to me. I scraped off the copious amounts of whipped cream and then my waffle was cold. I asked her to warm it up and she did. In the meantime, my husband is halfway done with his breakfast and I'm still waiting to start mine. I know the waitress is noting my special requests when she takes the order. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE KITCHEN? Perhaps the cooks can or don't read the orders! This is unacceptable. When I was paying the bill, I told the cashier/manager about my experiences. He expressed some lukewarm concern but did not offer to adjust my bill. What's up with that? A little credit would have gone a long way for all the gymnastics to get a hot breakfast the way...

Went there this morning and found a cockroach in my Special Skillet!!! Took pictures as proof as well.... So disgusting.... Had I not looked at my plate...I would have eaten that plate!!! I come here ALL THE TIME....and I stopped going to Hucks because of how Skillet House's food.. NEVER coming back here again!! I will be telling all my friends and family who are frequent customers to stop coming here as well!!! What a shame and how disgusting and unsanitary!! We told the waitress about it. She took the plate and showed it to the cook who just looked at it and threw out the food and shrugged about it. She came back and apologized and said we were free to leave. Of course!!! Im not paying for food with cockroaches in it! Ill be sure to spread this around so people know how unsanitary...
