Bob Jo's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Wyandotte

When I was a young lad, many, many decades ago, my father used to throw us all in the family station wagon and we'd head for Bob Jo's. In those days (we're talking back in the 50's) I seem to remember that they always had chocolate, vanilla, strawberry.... and one other flavor which would change from day to day. On the way, we would guess what the fourth flavor was, and who ever got it right got to get out of the car and go get the cones with dad.

Over the ensuing years, I have made pilgrimages to Bob Jo's from many distant locales and never, ever felt I had travelled too far for the experience. I am in Florida right now and am barely restraining myself from hopping in the car and zipping up I-75 right now.... barely!

Bob Jo's... I hope you have many more decades ahead of you and know that you are a fond memory in this custard-lover's heart.

Addendum: It is many years since this review. Since then, I have noticed a proliferation of "frozen custard” outlets here in Florida. I have to wonder…is it that difficult to do frozen custard? I still think it would be worth the...

My Grandfather and I just bought the Blueberry Ice Cream Cone 🍦 Specials they had today because it was the flavor for the day, I have to say for the first time ever trying your ice cream 🍦 it was so super fantasticy delicious 😋 and one of the most fabulously marvelous ice cream 🍦 cones I've ever had!!! I've heard so many brave and incredibly extraordinarily and incredibly phenomenal reviews 👏 and BOY I NOW KNOW THE REASON ON WHY YOUR ICE CREAM 🍦PLACE IS ALWAYS CROWDED AND LINES ARE SO LONG IS BECAUSE EVERYONE IS DYING TO BUY YOUR ICE CREAM AND ENJOY IT BIG TIME!!! Plus what makes your place even far more sweeter and special than the majority is y'all play THE VERY BEST MUSIC 🎶🎵 AND IT'S CERTAINLY A REALLY SUPER FUN 😁 AND FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE TO BE IN TOO!!!!! Whatever it is you're doing there, please keep it going because it's what's been working 💪 for you guys for lots of decades!!! Well I have always loved going to Bob Jo's for Frozen Custard and have been going there my whole life. My parents took me as a kid and I have done so with mine as well. And it's a regular tradition whenever my brother comes into town from California so we have been there almost everyday for the past week. This is the place that started it all with Frozen Custard in this area. All the others are "followers" as Bob Jo's lead the way. And we were not disappointed at all as they continue to serve a quality product. My brother got his usual Vanilla Custard and I indulged in a Chocolate Custard. Having just left the restaurant after lunch and both of us being full, we decided on a small cone for each of us. DELICIOUS!!! I urge everyone to, at least, try a Frozen Custard from this Michigan Icon. The kids will love 😘 it. They have ample parking available and are handicap accessible. Masks are optional at this time.
