This is Southgate's newest Kroger, and it's amazing! My observations for those who plan on visiting: -All aisles (including the fresh foods) seem to be substantially barrier-free. A wheel chair/powered scooter can move around with ease around this store. -Unlike older Kroger layouts where the 'Natural Foods' section is located in the front, you'll find organic and natural foods spread out within the store, much like a Meijer set up. However, the bulk bin aisle is well stocked and includes both self serve and pre-packaged bulk products. Be aware that there is no self-serve peanut butter grinder in this store (I think Kroger may have phased that out?) -I was really surprised about the clothing section. Clothing resembles slightly nicer options than Meijer and waaay better organized, and this store also features Carhartt products (shirts, pants and socks). The shoe selection includes work boots and junior shoes. In the baby section you'll also find some clothing items. -The baby section is a huge two aisle worth of relevant items. It's worth the visit. -This Kroger has full general goods aisles, including home goods, cleaning products, small appliances (think crockpots, vacuums), as well as a substantial toy and office section. In the far back near the toy section Kroger features a theme-based general goods aisle (think the back-to-school or Halloween-themed seasonal aisle in Target) -The store also has a top-to-bottom shelf of Multicultural items in the bath/personal care section. The section looks pretty dedicated, so I hope it stays well stocked. -Check out lanes are abundant. The self-check out lanes feature new machines (newer than you've seen in other stores) and make the purchasing process less of a hassle. This store also features 'ClickList', a option to pick up online-purchased items curbside. -In the fresh food section, items are separated by organic and 'normal' produce, and all packaged items (salads, cut veggies, salad dressing, etc.) you'll find behind a easy-close glass door. I observed that everything was incredibly fresh, and well lit! You'll find newer brands in this section as well. -The prepared foods section was expansive. Almost anything you'd want to eat (really) can be cooked to order or you'll find it ready made. This expands well beyond an older Kroger's normal deli and hot food fare. At the fish/meat counter, fish purchased can be freshly baked or fried for free. -The frozen section seems a bit larger than your average Kroger store, and includes the normal products that Kroger sells, with a few new products.
All in all I'd rate...
Read moreStopped by for last minute items for Christmas 2021 dinner. Asked a young man stocking meat and he politely directed me to the seafood gentleman. The gentleman working the counter was very nice and helpful. I'm not usually a Kroger shopper but because of his pleasant manner and the sale price on Asti Spumante, I will have to go more often! 3/01/22 update - With my newfound feeling about Kroger, I decided to do my weekly grocery shopping on Sunday, February 27th. An employee asked if we needed help, and we did. That was very nice. Got several items, struggled a bit with the prices of meat and didn't get very much of it. Liked the sale prices, added some Easter candy, milk, eggs, etc. Very happy to not have to stand in a long line to check out. The trip went pretty well until I was unable to enter my phone numbers both home and mobile and not have my Kroger card prices be applied. The person at the registered tried, but couldn't get it to come up either. Needless to say, when he handed me my receipt, I realized how devastating this was! I buy almost everything based on sale prices! Without that discount the trip was a abysmal failure. I spent over $200 on groceries that should have cost much less. So much for my new found appreciation for Kroger. The attendant didn't suggest I go to the service desk and I didn't think about it until we were on the way home. It was very upsetting and I didn't want to post anything right away while I was so upset. It is my donation to Kroger and there won't be another. I won't apply for another Kroger card, and won't shop...
Read moreI am not one to complain, as I have worked in customer service, & dealt with busy work places, but seeing as I have been majorly inconvenienced on multiple occasions with this locations click list, I feel compelled to let others know.
Today I put my order in around 11am on my lunch break, I set my pick up time for 7-8pm, I arrived around 6:45 & saw they were busy, no problem, I do bot mind waiting, pulled into my spot at 7 & checked in, after seeing multiple cars that arrived after me get their orders I called again (it is now 7:50) I was told that an automatic message was sent to my phone & that I’d have to wait another 40 minutes, the only message I received today told me my order would be ready at the time I had set, I was aggravated at this point, because , like most people I had other things to do, so after waisting my gas & sitting there for an hour I now have to go back tomorrow after work to hopefully pick up my groceries.
I have had this happen twice before, have had over half of my order forgotten twice, & will not be returning to this location. I would not be using this service if I had the time to go into the store & get my groceries myself. 8 hours should give a team more than enough time to get an order...
