I'm sorry to say I would avoid this place at all costs. The service is just that poor!

We just moved to Wylie and we were excited to try Bold BBQ because of the great reviews and it's proximity to our home (less than 2 minutes from us).

My family of 3 arrived at 6:45p on a Wednesday and it wasn't particularly busy. We placed an order for a Family Pack with brisket and ribs, two sides and drinks.

A few other parties came in after us for dine in, some small (4 people or less) and one large party of two tables.

After patiently waiting 30 minutes, we noticed other parties that arrived substantially after us were receiving their orders so we decided to go up front to ask for an update.

The lead register girl was rude after my wife politely asked how much longer we could expect to wait for our order. She told us they were out of ribs yet no one had bothered to tell us when we ordered or anytime in our already 30+ minute wait. We asked for sausage instead of ribs and went back our table to wait.

15+ minutes later and we still didn't have our order. Oddly enough, other tables that arrived substantially after us still kept receiving their orders.

The lead register girl rudely offered to comp us our order on her way out to deliver a to go. 10 minutes later she came back and we still had not received our order.

We FINALLY decided to leave and kindly asked for a refund on our way out. Again, the lead register girl seemed annoyed at us for giving us such poor service. Zero people or customer service skills. No apology.

I'm dumbfounded by her attitude given our experience and patience. We came in expecting great food and good service, but we got neither. I can't recommend this place at all.

I'm a bit sad to say that given the pandemic's impact on the restaurant industry and our desire to support local businesses but our experience was truly...

Ordered: ($80+tip) 2 meats ala carte. 1# Brisket/ 1/2# Smoked Bologna, Lg potatoe salad, Lg green beans and 1 individual banana pudding and a brownie, to go. We got home, and our 1/2# bologna was 2 slices, and the 1# of brisket flet light. I got out my food scale and both meats were not the amount I had ordered. Bologna weighted 6oz (1/2# should have been 8), and brisket weighed scant and was mostly fat. I messages them on Facebook and got the response of 2 "thumbs up." Then later, I got a response. Something was mentioned that if I didn't think I got what I paid for, they would give me some more meat. (I dont know really what that means, so I just walk in and say Im supposed to get meat?) I responded to that message and told them I had photos, of they needed to see them. I've had no further response, as of this posting. *although it was the weekend. The food: Potato salad was really good. Smoked Blogona was good. Green Beans are out of a can and have no flavor, you could see a LOT of pepper, but they just taste like canned green beans. Brisket was too Fatty, with a thick fat cap & very "marlbed", some parts were uneatable, a bit grisly. Banana pudding and brownie were ok. I think you should get what you pay for, and I do not feel that the establishment felt the same. *we had informed them of a dietary (gluten) allergy as well and requested the Gluten Free sauce (of course), but were given our regular sauce inside a box of bread along with. (While I understand they are noy a gluten free kitchen, it is important to know care is taken, if carenis taken with an allergy, then it is likely care is taken in other areas, cleaniness, attention to...

Family stopped by today to try this place out. Overall it was a good experience for all. Atmosphere and decor was very comfortable and the service was excellent.

The brisket egg rolls were amazing along with the fried pickles. One in our party ordered the Texas Grilled Cheese and really loved it. Very Cheesy and great brisket flavor. Also enjoyed the cheese outer layer on the bread. Another ordered the Quesadilla and said it was really good but wished they had ordered the Texas Grilled Cheese. Other two ordered the two meat plates with brisket and sausage. They were happy with it as well and portions looks ok. I ordered the three meat plate with brisket, smoked sausage, and smoked bologna. All three meats had a good flavor with a good balance of smoke. The portion size of each was not 1/4 lb. as they advertise. I recommend getting an accurate scale. I was also asked, and ordered a mix of lean and fat for the brisket and received a small dry lean slice of brisket. As far as the sides. We had the mac & cheese, potato salad, coleslaw with blue cheese, fried okra, and fries. Mac & cheese tasted like it came out of a box and was very bland. Potato salad was ok a bit bland as well, and coleslaw had good flavor along with the fried okra. Fries are fries.

Overall, the place is pretty good and we enjoyed our visit. Customer service was great! We will be back to try again. As I went around the table for scores...all agreed to a score of 4 out of 5. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing you all again soon! I do recommend giving Bold BBQ Pit a try! Keep a watch out for...

I can only speak on the food I had. I ordered a 3 meat plate with turkey, chicken, smoked sausage, green beans and mac n cheese for the sides. The chicken was juicy and amazing, the turkey was super dry, the sausage was pretty much what you'd expect. The green beans tasted like they were right out of a can and lacked flavor, the Mac n cheese was right on point, very creamy and flavorful. I added 6 of the smoked wings and an interesting side they had, blue cheese slaw. The wings, I was told were smoked then deep fried. Maybe just smoke them and don't deep fry? They were extremely dry. The blue cheese slaw was interesting, I'm not sure what I expected but I think if you're a blue cheese fan I'd definitely give it a shot. My niece had the loaded baked potato with brisket and she seemed to enjoy it. The boys had kids meals, one had chicken fingers and the other sliders both had fries. I did snag a couple fries when plating their lunch and they were pretty awful, extremely chewy. The sauce was interesting, it wasn't to any of our liking but that doesn't mean it was bad just not our preference.

I ordered sausage, ribs, mac n cheese, and potato salad. The sausage was absolutely juicy and basically melted in my mouth. The casing wasn't rubbery or chewy at all. Now I know where to go if I want juicy and tasty sausage. The ribs were ok, but I had some fat on them which I didn't eat. Definitely not the best ribs like Blues City Café in Memphis, but they weren't bad. The mac n cheese was good and it did taste fresh and homemade. I could definitely taste the sharp cheddar. Now, the potato salad. Its my fault that I didn't read the menu about the potato salad. I prefer my potato salad to have sweet relish and mustard in it. They serve a mayonnaise based county potato salad and it was actually pretty good. The barbecue sauce was one that I have never had before. I'm not sure if they put oregano in this barbecue sauce, but it definitely tasted and smelled like oregano was in there. Maybe if I had the barbecue sauce more often, I would enjoy the flavor more. However, I wasn't too fond of it. Overall, I give 4 stars sausage was so succulent!
