It was a very pleasant experience! The good: 1. We were greeted with a smile upon entering. 2. We were asked to pick any seating we wanted. 3. There was 1 booth (2 person tables, 4 person tables and 4 person booths were offered) that was immediately clean and available. 4. After we ordered the food arrived in 15 minutes and it was nice and very Hot! 5. The store was quite clean, and was filled with happy customers enjoying their food. The not so good: a. The men's bathroom had no more soap. b.The paper towels were sitting on the toilet water tank - not attached to a dispenser, with a whole role of TP on the floor (I guess they forgot to do a restroom check). c. There were a few tables that weren't clean (waiting to be cleared for new customers - eventually they were cleaned, but a couple people sat down at a dirty booth because no other booths were available). c. Someone in my group ordered a breakfast dish - when the dish was brought out he was told "here's your plate, but we ran out of potatoes, would you like a side of fries instead?" ... He picked the fries.. It would've been good to let him know you didn't have potatoes Before the meal was cooked. Aside from that, the environment was happy and fun! The food was Very, very good! I would definitely come back here again.

Absolutely delicious food! Great, friendly, on-top-of-things service plus great recommendations for menu items. Don't let the unassuming interior and simple, darkened exterior windows fool you. I have been avoiding restaurant environments due to the pandemic, but hopping in here when we had to was a blessing in food form. Adequate spacing, good adherence to mask safety, delicious homey food, wonderful service. Recommend the enchilada trio to try several flavors. 10/10 coming back for more! **Bonus points for Pokemon Go pokestop access (five pokestops in reach, plus a gym just barely out of reach, plus about 20 other pokestops and 4 more gyms within blocks of it).

Really enjoyed our first experience here. The staff were very welcoming, and they practice ā€œself-seatingā€ here. The salsa and chips were decent, just needed a little salt, and they were good. We ordered the beef fajitas and the tacos al carbon. The meat was tender and again just needed a little salt to be taken to the next level. The rice was flavorful, but the beans again needed a little salt and then were great. We will be back, just knowing that the food may need to be seasoned a little bit at the table unless they add more when it is prepared in the back. Give them a try.

On 11/30/22, I ordered and paid $41.11 for 2 dz tamales (12 chicken/12 beef) for a Christmas gathering on 12/17 (a full 2 week advance notice and payment). PU time was scheduled for 10:30 am. My husband went with the receipt to pick them up at 10:30 am on 12/17... the girl looked at him as if she didn't have a clue what he was talking about! He waited for 15 minutes and was brought FROZEN tamales! I could have bought those at Costco or the grocery store for a lot less than $40.00!! AND when I opened them, I only had 22!! So I paid over $40 for frozen tamales and was shorted 2!! I called on 12/18 at 3:00 pm and was told the manager's name is Jorge and he would be in at 5:00 pm. I wasn't able to call back on 12/18, but did call on 12/19 at 3:00 pm to speak with Jorge, and was told he wasn't in. I asked when he would be in and was told "they're in and out so I have no idea". I asked if he was one of the the owners since she referred to "they" and she said "you asked for a manager. he's not the owner". I then asked since he's the manager, there should be a schedule posted of his work times, and she told me she doesn't know. I asked to speak with another manager (remember she said "they" earlier), and she told me there isn't one and she doesn't have time to deal with me right now AND HUNG UP ON ME! I called back and asked for her name and she told me I didn't need to know and HUNG UP AGAIN! I called back two more times and she didn't even answer... she just picked up the phone and immediately hung up!! ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!! I try to support small businesses, but this one doesn't deserve my business with rude employees like that girl!! I will be making a trip to La Joya to speak to the manager IN PERSON and get my money back and that will be the LAST TIME I ever set foot in that place. PS Google forces me to put at least one star to post my review otherwise they...

My family and I will NEVER eat here again! When we walked into La Joya we were already skeptical because the last time we went our waitress was a total snob and took forever to bring our food, today topped it off! There were 9 tables with people (mostly couples, 1 table with about 8 high school kids) when we walked in. We ordered our drinks, they bring my boyfriend and I DP in a can that is luke-warm and when I asked for a cup of ice our waiter acted like it was the end of the world. After bringing our drinks, getting my cup of ice, and taking our order, he brings 1 bowl of salsa and a half full tray of chips (for 3 of us). I asked if we could please have more bowls of salsa he gave us all a look and went to get more. We sat like this for 45 minutes waiting on more chips, or our FOOD, while our waiter stood right behind us talking to his friends (the high school kids). We asked for more chips and this kids attitude finally ticked me off, or maybe it was waiting an hour on our food, either way I walked up to the counter and asked for the manager. The manager informed me she would comp our drinks and our food was "almost ready." About 10 minutes later I ask if our food has even been started because we would rather just go somewhere else at this point and our waiter informed me that our food was being "packed up," a waitress asked me if she could help and I explained to her that I've been eating there all my life with my family and I've never received such terrible service and the waitress and waiter standing behind us LAUGHED. The restaurant was disgusting, you could tell they never clean, we were nervous to even eat our food (that we brought home), rightfully so because I found a HAIR in my guacamole for my nachos. DISGUSTING,...
