I had never been here before so I figured I would give it a shot.
Coming in the door, the flow of the restaurant was confusing. There was a line down the aisle of booths in the middle leading up to the point of sale, which I couldn't tell if that was an ordering line or a pick up your food line.
I get it - good help is hard to find, masks make it hard to hear, the plastic partitions add to the limited hearing. The employees were entering our order in and then turning & shouting corrections into the kitchen. There were side conversations between employees while we were ordering which added confusion to whether they were talking to us or not.
Out table was filthy, with actual hair and eyelashes (not sure who or what sat here before us), but an employee was kind enough to spray & wipe the table for us. Whatever they used (not sure if it was the spray or an old rag) smelled like an old washcloth.
I had a Reuben, Mac & Cheese & soup (I mistakingly ordered Mac & Cheese thinking it was my side for my sandwich). The soup was definitely hot, the rest was warm. Overall, the taste of the sandwich was good.
My wife ordered a Southwest Salad (?) which had chicken, and was supposed to have tortilla strips (those chip-like strips), avocado, and chicken. It had chicken, 3-4 tortilla strips, and cucumber quarters instead of avocado.
It wasn't worth the inconvenience of going back to try to get these things corrected as we were on limited time, and the food was still fine, just incorrect.
Overall, a mediocre experience. I was not sure what to expect and do not dine out often any way. Today I remembered why. After looking at the menu and seeing the price point and end product, you could probably hit a Panera and have a much better...
Read moreI love this place! Just about everything on their menu is excellent, the tables and bathrooms are always clean, and the location is excellent. Before I quit eating red meat I was addicted to their French Dip. Salads are fresh and crisp. Love, love their huge teas! I would like to see them have more vegetarian options on the menu than salads and potatoes. I know it's a deli, but there could be some work done to bring that demographic in; if Subway can do it you can.
My one gripe is that food tends to take a while to be finished, longer than most delis in the area. I am fine with that because I understand good food takes time, but it's slightly inconvenient to have lunch at McAlister's when I'm in a hurry. I love the app though, food's always...
Read moreWhen I found out we were getting a Mcalister's close to home, I was so excited. I have been 6 times and not one time was the food correct. I mistakenly keep going back because I really enjoy their food at other locations. The dressing for my salad is either not the right kind or I don't get the extra that I pay for. 3 times I've ordered sweet tea and I get unsweet. Sometimes they just forget multiple items. I've contacted customer service for the missing items and nothing ever got resolved. There was one time I stood at the counter for almost 10 minutes before an employee would even acknowledge I was there. Nobody else was in the building. Definitely try their food but don't expect it to be correct at...
