The Village Inn is a brightly lit welcoming family style restaurant decked out in an orange and brown motif. A combination of recessed lighting, and above table, and individual above table lighting make this restaurant cozy warm. Though booths by the windows can be a bit chilly in below freezing temps. For a Thursday night before Christmas the restaurant was moderately busy with a combination of hungry travelers and the local community. The Staff greeted and seated me right away offering me a choice of booth or table seating. The waitress came along right away and was quick and helpful. Known for its delicious pies, there was a table top flip chart describing their pies with a picture and short paragraph. Of special note the individual flip cards have little known or interesting tidbits of information about the ingredients called " Pie Bites". I ordered the Pot Roast with with red skin mashed potatoes, a side of corn, and Texas toast. It was good homey food. The roast beef was tender, the mashed potatoes were fluffy the Texas toast was golden brown and lightly buttered and corn was served in a dish of its own and very tasty. The roast beef and potatoes were covered in a generous helping of brown gravy. I had Cheesecake covered in strawberry sauce and topped with fresh strawberries not frozen. All the portions were right sized for the price. Salad was not included with dinner entre'. This is a good place to stop in any time. It is conveniently located right off interstate 35 with brightly lit signage. It has a nice entry way though the doors aren't automatic. It also has a couple of van accessible handicapped parking spaces. Its close to gas stations and fast food. A nice cozy place I had a nice experience.

I visited the Wyoming Village Inn a couple of days ago on the recommendation of two of my good work clients. I hadn't eaten at the VI in quite awhile, so I was happily surprised to see that it hadn't changed a bit since the last time I visited. The location is convenient just off of I-35 at the Wyoming exit, and has a large parking lot surrounding the restaurant. Once inside, you have the feeling you just entered a 1950's era pancake/malt shop/diner; The ambiance is warm, inviting and comforting to the MAX! Large booths, lots of windows, and an old-fashioned display of fresh pies greets you as you enter. The restaurant was nearly full on the day I visited, with seemingly many "locals" and "regulars" to the VI. The menu is enormous, with lots of "feel good" breakfasts, including various pancakes, etc (see my photos of the menu). Prices are very reasonable, and the portion size is ENORMOUS (how can anyone finish all this food in one sitting??!). I sampled one of the skillet lunches topped by 2 eggs, and complete with three large pancakes, crispy bacon and sausages. Wow, talk about food coma time! It was all freshly prepared, hot and FILLING. The staff here are FANTASTIC, FUN, and HELPFUL with my order. I felt like I was in an old-fashioned diner, with the waitress rapidly scribbling my order on an small order notepad. My waitress, Kristin, was AMAZING. Staff and service overall was great. If you want to eat eat eat home-made comfort food galore, Village Inn is the place to do it. I'm serious, how can anyone eat all of one of those skillet lunches in one seating??!!! I'm talkin' FOOD COMA.

My girlfriends chicken was not crispy. On the Menu it said it should be. Her cheese looks like it was shredded cheese. Her sandwich looked like it came from a microwave. My fish sandwich looked nothing like the picture. I asked for what kind of tea they had. She said Brisk and some other brand. She could not tell me what brand it was. Since I don't like Brisk. I ordered the other tea. The customer service I don't think was that great. They basically pushed us out as fast as they could. The food came so fast it was like we were at a fast food restaurant. :(

We are, quite possibly were, regulars until last Thursday (9/11/2025) which was kind of the final straw. Service and food for the most part has been good over the years but lately it’s been becoming more and more hit and miss. There are a few servers that don’t smile and just look like they hate the world. There’s times they don’t even say hi, they just come up and say “what can I get you” and that’s pretty much it. This last time we were there I believe her name was Melissa, she delivered out drinks and spilled both of mine and came back with napkins and just dropped the napkins on the table for me to clean up her mess she made. She was not approachable at all and not really that friendly at all. It’s not just time either. The few that clearly hate their jobs are like this every time we see them whether they wait on us or not. Not only did I have to clean up the mess she made, her steak was raw in the center, again. It wasn’t that busy buy it took quite long to get the replacement steak out and by that time we were already extremely frustrated. Then, the bill comes and for the two of us it was just over $48, so nothing was even taken off for any of the issues. Again, for the most part, the food and service is great. But, it’s been becoming more and more of a gamble on the food (mainly the steak) and the service to where we don’t even find it worth it to take the chance. Some servers there are amazing and it’s clear to see as soon as you walk in and some servers hate the world and it’s clear to see as soon as you walk in and it’s baffling how they continue to be there when we definitely aren’t the only ones to notice it and it’s so easy to see and pick up on. Starting a day out there with great food and service can literally set the tone for a customers day and make it great and memorable. But, a server that has an attitude can ruin that vibe for a customer as well. We aren’t looking for anything free at all or anything like that. We are going to take a break for awhile and hopefully someday when we do stop in again...

Took my son to lunch today, after a doctors appointment. Whoever the hostess was, was truly awful. I understand that people are only human and can have off days (hence, this being my first time ever leaving a negative review), but the way she behaved is unacceptable for a grown adult. I’d overlook her bad attitude, not smiling, being even remotely friendly , or greeting us in any way. What I cannot overlook is her blatantly staring at my 9 year old son. Yes, his face was swollen, red, rashy & angry looking. Yes, he looked “different.” But newsflash, a lot of people have injuries or illnesses that affect their physical appearance. And beyond that, many people live with different types of disabilities, disfigurements, etc. Once you’re no longer a child, who just hasn’t learned any better yet, you have zero excuse for gawking. In the moment I played it cool, hoping he wasn’t noticing. Oh, but he definitely did. He sat in the booth with his winter coat on & hood up trying to hide his face. When we got in the car to leave he immediately said mom that lady was really staring at my face, and she kept looking back to see when we were walking to the table… This kid is sweet to his core. I could go on & on about all the wonderful things I hear from his teachers, year after year- kind, inclusive, a friend to everyone… You made him feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. Shame on you! *On a more positive note, I’ve never had a bad experience here prior. The food was good. The girl working the cash register (with the cute blue hair) was very nice! To me, and my son. She smiled and interacted with him, completely un-phased. Thank you to her, for making his experience a...
