The service department at Hallberg Marine has been aweful!!! They have had our boat since last October and we were not able to pick it up until May 29 so we did not even have our boat for memorial weekend !!! We had some damage to our pontoon last fall from the storm so we decided to bring our boat to Hallberg Marine to have it repaired. When we were pulling the boat out for the season, we realized the muskrats had chewed through our gas lines so as long as Hallberg was going to have our boat to repair the damage, we asked them to fix the gas lines that the muskrats chewed through, we specifically asked for a braided steel line to be put in, which they did not do!! In May we were calling to find out if our boat was done and they would tell us just give us another week, which we did, the month of may!!! When we went to pick up our boat, the side that they repaired did not have any of the logos attached and they informed us that they couldn’t get the decals anymore but nobody bothered to call us so I could’ve told them to please remove the decals off the other side, so my boat would match or I would’ve had them replace the aluminum all the way around. Needless to say no communication. They actually charged me on the invoice for the decals, which I had to go back in to get a credit for, so we took our boat up to the lake attached the battery it started right up, put it in the water, and it died!! We were able to find somebody to tow our boat to our dock, and I called Hallberg and a service man helped us over the phone and told me there was a vapor lock in our gas line that they replaced!!! The gentleman on the phone told us how to release the vapor lock which we did, and it started up again, enough for us to get it parked into our slip!! So on Saturday, I went down to the boat to take my kids for a ride. It started up. We left the dock, got not very far at all, and it died. My son-in-law jumped in to pull the boat back to our slip, and we could no longer get it started. On Monday we called a mechanic that is very close to where our cabin is and he came out and Our boat was just sucking in water so he put his hand down to the main gas line and lo and behold. He felt a big hole in the gas line which was the big hole we saw last fall that the muskrats chewed and Hallberg never replace that line. When I called them to let them know the gentleman on the phone said “so sorry we missed that but you’re getting it fixed right?” So needless to say I am now paying someone else to repair what I believe I paid Hallberg to have fixed!!!...
Read moreWe purchased our brand new boat from Hallberg Marine in May of 2024. We purchased a brand new Alumacraft 185 Competitor, it was one they had on display that came with all of the electronics installed. The sales team was absolutely amazing to work with, and made the sale smooth and easy. However, we found a few issues right away that needed to be looked at. 1.) The speedometer didn't work when we purchased the boat. 2.) The front live well didn't drain the water; we had to hand scoop water out of that livewell when we used it. 3) The windshield was loose and rattled anytime we went over some waves. We spoke to Hallberg Marine and told them about these issues. When we brought the boat back in to have the 20 hour service on the motor, we had them look at these issues, and we were told they were fixed. The speedometer still was not working when we got this back. They told us “you probably won't use that speedometer anyways, and will use the graph speedometer instead”. That may be the case, however with the money we spent for a brand new boat, I want it to function as it is supposed to. They did fix the front livewell, but then the breaker/fuse for the rear livewell pump was tripped- we assume this probably happened when they were working on the front livewell. We also had some tackle bags in the storage compartments that were moldy- we assumed they left this outside without being covered (we didn't make this a big issue, but we got it all cleaned up and made sure we covered it the next time it was brought in).
We raised these issues again to Hallberg Marine. They worked with us to give us free storage for the winter season so that they could correct these issues for us. Well, my husband picked up our boat yesterday (4/12/25) for the season- and of course there are more issues. 1.) Our boat won't even start!!! 2.) There is a new large crack all the way through the plastic dashboard under the windshield. 3.) They replaced the breaker/fuse that was blown with the horn breaker/fuse and the horn is now unworkable instead of just replacing the broken part. As the boat won't even start, we are unable to even know if the speedometer was actually fixed this time. At this point, we won't be bringing our boat back to Hallberg Marine, even to have them fix the issues they've created. Each time we get this back, there are more issues with our BRAND NEW BOAT!! If anyone purchases from Hallberg Marine, I would highly suggest not using them to have service done on their boat. Their service team is an absolute nightmare...
Read moreDO NOT SHOP HERE !!!!!!! PLEASE!!!! I take being a premier Google guide very serious and I can tell you right now this owner has no respect for his customers whatsoever I'm in a wheelchair and the gentleman had the nerve to come out in the parking lot demand I get off his property after he refused to return a solenoid I was forced to buy that was $41 once again being in a wheelchair and on Social Security I have an angel investor helping me out so that I'm able to still do things like use a boat this guy doesn't think handicapped people should be able to go in his store and they should no longer be able to have their own boat is the vibe I got from the gentleman so just to be aware that your money means nothing to this guy he could care less if you by there or at Rapid Marine or any other Marina he said that his salesperson wasted his time on us selling us the product last Thursday and then insisted on coming outside invading my personal space I'm a vulnerable adult so please beware when you shop here for your own sake and my case all I was trying to do was get money back for my angel investor because I was so lucky to have someone help me so that I can continue boating be safe on the waters and I will keep my post honest as I always have remember a place that doesn't have handicap doors that open or handicap parking spot isn't looking for my kind of business and I think that's sad in 2017
Hallberg Marine yesterday and again needed a few parts they were available but one thing be aware I'm in a wheelchair and there is no wheelchair parking here and they have a golf cart in the area where you would usually unload a wheelchair so if you don't have somebody with you in might be a little difficult luckily I have a vehicle that stands out so usually if someone sees me they're willing to help but if not I have to try and open it myself and being in a chair for so long I've had to come up with these challenges and overcome them so but the pricing on the items that I needed seem to be extremely expensive I would like to go back and see if they will help me out again because I was sold a part I didn't need I'm very disappointed in the lack of handicap availability for people in a wheelchair to get around and see what's available we can still get out and go fishing don't ever let anything stop...
