Amazing quality and authentic Korean food at a very reasonable price located in the heart of Washington! The following was ordered and will be described: "Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap" ($16.95) -- This was a huge dish at a fair price. What isn't noted is that they give you 2 eggs in this dish. The beef that comes with it is flavored just like the "beef bulgogi". The sides of the rice that is touching the hot bowl does char/burn up a bit, and that gives it a nice crispy texture. Highly recommended as the veggies are flavored and the sauce you can add to it, gives it a nice traditional flavor. This dish can serve 2 people. "Sundubu Jigae (Seafood)" ($16.95) -- The seafood that comes with this includes: shrimp, squid, clams. Highly recommend the Seafood vs the Pork, as the flavors really is exquisite with the saltiness of the seafood. The soup comes with a side of Rice, and the broth is very flavorful. Highly recommend this on a cold day. Can be easily shared between 2-3 people. "Beef Bulgogi" ($17.95) -- This is a huuuuge dish and comes piping hot. the beef is extremely flavor packed, semi-sweet bbq flavor, very authentic. The vegetables that accompanies it are: broccoli, onions, cabbage, carrots. All sliced/diced to be of equal of similar sizing to the beef. The only complaint here is the beef was sliced to small, so you'll have to use a spoon to scoop it into your rice bowl versus using chopsticks. This dish can serve 3-4 people. "Sunny Roll" ($15.95) -- The fresh raw salmon & tuna, kris-cross the roll and gives you a nice balanced flavor. Lightly dip it in soy, the top (fish) part only as the the inside tempura doesn't need any additional flavoring. For those trying to get into "raw" food, this is a nice entry level roll before you jump towards the nigiris. 1 person (full), 2 people as shared appetizer style. "Hawaiian Roll" ($15.95) -- The most refreshing dish you need to try. Cut into 6 slices, it comes already soaked in a light ponzu sauces that is absorbing into your cucumber and 3 fishes that comes with this. The chef is very generous with the thickness and slabs (yes slab not chunk) of raw fish they give with this dish. The cucumber is thick as it houses 3 large slabs of fish. Highly recommend this for those who are looking for sashimi and miss going to Southern California for fresh Sushi, but wants to go towards a more affordable route as this is really worth the money and is located in Yakima. 1 person (semi-full), 2-3 people (appetizer amount). Service is extremely smooth, quick, friendly, and observant. The serve staff is attentive and refills without you even asking, as we didn't even notice our drink were half low before it was auto-refilled. Extremely clean and spacious. The food came out rather quickly and piping hot (if you ordered a hot dish). OVERALL, for the price, quality, quantity of food that is served here, this place is amazing! Best restaurant in all of Yakima. Very authentic, flavors, ingredients, and priced very well for what you get.

The food here is amazing! The absolute best! I came in today September 16th with my boyfriend. We ordered a spider roll not realizing that it was deep fried on the inside. I have a gluten intolerance so I cannot eat deep fried food. I told the woman that we had no idea it was deep fried and she was extremely understanding and they made it right for me. She even asked me multiple times if I was happy. Clean, delicious, great service, very well run business and loving caring owners/staff. I would recommend this place to everyone. We drive nearly an hour from Ellensburg just to eat here. Having food intolerances can be difficult and it was really amazing that the staff was so sweet and cared about me enough to help me fix it. Very nice people!

Walk in to a well-lit interior, open layout, clean interior, and Korean music with menu right up front with photos of what you can order. I really loved the panchan (side dishes) and the galbi. Food hit the spot. Ask for their iced tea (sweetened/unsweetened). I ordered unsweetened but some might prefer more sweet for a friendlier pallete. The overall 4.7 star review is very well deserved and holds true. Don’t be afraid to venture out and get their recommendation. I would try their tteokboki or yuk gae jang next time. Also, I think it’s a good spot because a few older people go here. I think they know where the good comfort food is at 😆 Very glad I stopped by here!

Can’t give it any stars since we never got servcie to even order the food. We were seated the same as a group of people given menues then forgotten about for 40 min. Not even served water. It took my husband given the waitress who ignored us every time she walked by a stern look for her to come over and ask us if we were ready. Didn’t smile or anything. Just sighed heavy, whether it be because she was tired or what it was still unprofessional. By that time we were irritated since it seemed like she was solely serving the group of ppl (tip favoring) we went to order and I had asked for a non-spicy soup that was not labeled as Spicy. I asked a question about another soup if they could make it without the added spice and she told me no. Then proceeded to tell me everything on the menu was spicey except the soups for groups and the vegetable one. The phone rang and she walked away without a word so at that point we left. Not even an apology for the wait or the menu being incorrect.

Dec, 2018 4/5 - As my above statement still remains true to the fact we were extremely disappointed in our first visit and treatment. We eventually made it back as we were told they had restructured how things worked there. It was much cleaner this time. Aside from having to wait 25 mins for our orders to be taken and my specialty drink given to another table where it sat for about 10 min before she was told it wasn’t theirs and was given to me, the food was amazing. We tried a few different plates from sushi’s to the bi bap min. Everything was fresh and the pickled radish and carrots were to die for. The seasoned rice is done perfectly and the special Korean cold spicy sauce adds just enough kick to anything. I may order to go later but the wait between when you get a seat to giving your order makes dinning in a bit...

Very clean spot with impeccable customer service. The owner is very polite and is patient with every customer.i wanted something they didn't have on menu, and they made it for me. Very pleased with that. Made me feel important and is something that is a long forgotten custim and tradition. Server's are very cordial, and are prompt. Presentation of food is awesome, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. This mom and pop dinner is one to visit. Felt like home in their dinner. Great place to eat, and the simplicity of their dinning area was authentic. Many diners go overboard with decorations, but the simplicity of Joy Garden allowed you to focus on the food, and admire the presentation, and pause, and look at its artistic layout, and presentation. The server place your food on the table in a honorable respectable way, that made you feel important, and reminded me of the traditional service attendees of asian dinning. Smiles, laughter, and excitement in the cooking area that is visible made you feel like you were in the orient and traveling all the beautiful country side in far away lands. I really enjoyed my meal and service i received at Joy Garden and the name of this tiny by big restaurant fits perfectly. Thank you Joy Garden for your artistic presentation of a home cooked meal, it...
