***update*** My husband emailed the owner, who called him within an hour. She was mortified and thanked him for the honest feedback. She reimbursed us for our meal and sent another $100 gift certificate. She also promised to work with her staff to fix the issues and invited us to come try the oysters again. I thought about removing my review but chose to leave it because it’s important to see how a great business owner handles complaints. We will certainly give them another try. Isaak our server was great. The food was awful. The panfried oysters were mushy and tasteless. The deep fried pickles were limp. My husbands deep fried cod was borderline burnt and 2/3 of it was just batter with very little fish. My grandson got steak nachos and it looked like they dumped the last of the bag on a plate (it was largly crumbs not chips) and the cheese was so hard and cold when he went to pick up a chip half the pile came up with it. Over half the chips had no cheese at all. We spent over $100 on dinner for 3 and all left very disappointed. I NEVER complain. Even when I get mediocre food I'll finish it because I hate for things to go to waste. But I couldn't. Left over half my meal. And my grandson (11 year old football player who is 5'8" and almost 200lbs) left half his nachos. That speaks volumes! I will never go back. Food quality is probably the worst I've ever paid for.

Absolutely Dangerous – Avoid at All Costs Come here if you want to risk your life with what’s on your plate. I ordered the Omelet with Grilled Cheese Grits, and while eating the grits, I suddenly felt something sharp in my mouth. I pulled out a 1-inch long glass chip with sharp edges. If I had swallowed it, I could’ve ended up in the ER—or worse. I went back to the restaurant to report this serious safety hazard and request compensation. Shockingly, the manager refused to offer cash compensation, only credit coupon for their restaurant. Why would I ever return to a place that almost injured me? I told them clearly: I won’t be coming back, and I don’t want a coupon from a restaurant that can’t ensure basic food safety. End up with leaving my number to them, I want the owner’s explanation for this situation. This was not a minor issue—this was a life-threatening oversight. Sadly I don’t even know whether I already swallowed some glass chips before i found this one. The lack of accountability is just as disturbing as the glass in my food. Avoid this place at all costs.

Well, lemme tell y’all somethin’ right here and now! I took my boy to Powerhouse Grill in Yakima for his 18th birthday breakfast, and it was a rootin’ tootin’ hoedown of a feast! I swear on my granny’s cornbread, this here place is the best durn eatin’ joint this side of the Mississippi! We walked in and was greeted like long-lost cousins at a family reunion. The smell of bacon and fresh coffee hit us like a freight train, and I knew we was in for a treat. The food? Oh lawdy, it was so good it’d make a grown man cry! Fluffy pancakes bigger than a steer’s backside, eggs cooked just right, and bacon crispy enough to make your teeth sing! My boy was grinnin’ from ear to ear, and I reckon he thought he’d died and gone to breakfast heaven. The folks there treated us like royalty, fillin’ up our coffee cups faster than a jackrabbit on a date. If you ain’t been to Powerhouse Grill, you best hitch up your wagon and get on over there! It’s five stars, ten if I could give ‘em, and I promise you, it’s worth every blessed bite. Yeehaw!

Recent: 3 years ago I would point you to here. A year ago went for my birthday. Get some good food and cake. At that time in 30 minutes was throwing up. Pretty sure it was under cooked eggs. I mean everything else was hot. Called them and they found nothing expired..

Then yesterday went for my birthday, figured give them another shot. Had the Country Fried Benedict. The poached egg was medium and good. Gravy as usually pretty good. Coffee was cool but decided to get some ice for ice coffee, why not? Anyway the country fried steak was just barely 1/4” thick which is unusual, but interesting. Basically dehydrated patty with breading. Compared to other places low effort especially at $13 a plate. Seems store bought based on its composition you get from using frozen version at home. Then the biscuits were dry and powder like. Incredibly unusual for this place. In minutes food was unsettling when I left snd towards end while there.

You can see my old review below. I adored this place. Burgers tend to be good, but at this point avoid breakfast food that has biscuits or country fried streak. I did eat there earlier this year and it was ok, not great. The quality if the food is just not there it seems or I have bad luck more often than a good time.

Personally I can no longer endorse this restaurant. It is a local favorite. Eaten their little over two years ago at least every few months and been here about 6 years. Something is gone wrong in the last two years here. Staff seem forgetful on little requests like hot sauce, may just be running hard.

Im simply disappointed as their bacon wrapped meatloaf is unique. I suggest shrinking your menu if you cant keep quality up. Other option is rotational daily items to ficus on. Works for Gordon Ramsey when he fixes restaurants falling behind in operation.

Old Review: Ended up eating here almost 3 times in 2 days plus once 2 weeks ago. Now that I live here maybe going off and on. In short the food is good. Had that home made hash which was good and their burgers are pretty decent. They have good buns and my parents enjoyed the food. Coffee did taste well and the staff are really attentive. Some reason we all did get a little agitated in our stomach later that day after breakfast. I am noting this to be not a food issue but likely we are not used to the water or simply have eaten out to much. Good...

If I could rate this place 🤢🤢🤢, I would.

Ordered the sole fish and chips, and a beer. The dinner salad and beer only came after about 12 minutes despite the restaurant being nearly empty. I assume the waiter forgot. When my food came just a few minutes later, the waiter attempted to blame it on the cook despite my not saying anything about it... right.

Salad tasted like it was sourced from the same lettuce supplier as McDonald's. The sole fish and chips was easily in the top three worst fish and chips I've had, and I've had a lot. The fish was sad and frozen, the breading on the sole lacked flavor and whatever flavor it had was bizarre: appeared to have mustard seeds on it(???). I assume from the menu's description it was gluten free, but could never ask the absentee waiter what kind of breading it was (or why it tasted so awful). It's hard to screw up fries, but Powerhouse accomplished just that.

When the slop, I mean meal, came, I asked for cocktail sauce, and the waiter assured me it was on its way. Little did I know that would be the last I would see of my waiter.

The cocktail sauce never came, the waiter never came to check up on me once after dropping the slop off, didn't refill my water after getting my food, and I had to go up to the front counter to pay as she apparently got completely distracted by one of the other tables at this nearly empty restaurant. (Two waiters on staff, at most five parties were seated in the whole restaurant.)

Paid at the front counter where I had to debate with the hostess who tried to charge me over $80 for this nearly inedible meal. While all this happened, a woman who I assume was the manager or owner just chit chatted with the hostesses, who were just standing there idly the entire time I was there, while the waiter completely failed at her job. (My table faced the front counter / hostess stand.)

Powerhouse Grill, never again, not even once. Yakima is a small, geographically isolated town with a captive audience and this restaurant certainly takes advantage of that.

To summarize: Felt like I was one of the patrons in an episode of Restaurant...

I posted this 5 months ago I was going back and reading the reviews and I had made mistakes so I just went through and corrected my mistakes but this post was 5 months ago.Very clean and sanitized, our waitress was amazing, she came to our table and told us she was getting off duty and that another waitress would be taking over, we thanked her for her service said the food was amazing service was amazing the other waitress that took over, never came to our table never asked how we were doing never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks she kept walking right past us like we didn't even exist I can't remember her name but she was a younger girl and she had dark hair her waitressine can be improved she's not a good waitress she was standing at a table talking to one customer for I want to say at least 10 minutes if not more I held my hand up nobody came to the table and we always seem to sit in the same section but I was very disappointed in the service after our waitress went home April 7,2021: My boyfriend and I went here yesterday April 7,3021 for an early dinner, great service, very attentive, a wonderful waitress, clean establishment, I ordered the chili burger big major mistake, it was awful, no flavor, my bottom bun was cut in half, no hamburger patty at all, ground hamburger mixed in with kidney beans, and HUGE chunks of thick chopped tomatoes, melted cheese on top and huge chopped white onions on top., No flavor at all, very very bland A chili burger always has a beef patty, then chili. I took two bites, that was it. It was not at all appealing to the eye. My suggestion is do not order the chili burger. We both ordered strawberry 🍓 ice tea, always have hot strawberries at bottom of the glass, not this time, not even one and it had no flavor at all,but was very very weak. I was very very disappointed. We will continue to go back, but I will never order the chili...
