This place was Despicable. I spent my hard earned money We arrived thinking all NewYork Teryiaki were alike and had never been to this particular location. For starters we couldn’t sit down with a menu, we had to order and pay first (tip included) because I paid it on my bank card. Our orders came out within five minutes and we could both feel that the food was old I was going to eat mine and just call it a day cause I was starving but my wife’s food was literally like jerky she ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was gray it’s color and jerky like texture, she took one by and asked me if I thought it was something wrong with it and we returned it they gave her another plate of the same food she said no thank you I’ll just have my money back they said no we won’t refund you because you had a bite and nobody else in the restaurant was complaining except us. But there wasn’t anybody in there besides two other people, it run our lunch and their attitude was less than respectable even though I was showing them how grey and dry the chicken was they kept denying it saying they have to cook it like that or people get sick. The man was extremely rude and said maybe because my wife has bad teeth, my wife has a full smile and a great teeth. At that point I couldn’t handle it anymore it disrespect told him she can keep the money and that would be telling anybody I could that...
Read moreNormally I love NY Teriyaki. I frequent the one in Ellensburg, but have never eaten at the restaurant on Fruitvale. Today was that first time. There were a few reasons why I will never eat there again. First, we (my fiance and I) were seated at a table for six. The waitress started taking my fiance's order, then left quickly to serve another table before we had even ordered. Second, we were told to move to a different table because there was a large party that arrived. The issue was that there were other large party tables that just needed to be cleaned off. As a chef, that is one of the cardinal rules of restaurant etiquette . NEVER ask your customers to move after they have been seated. Third, the staff members were really rude and inconsiderate. I have never been treated that way in a restaurant in the 35 years that I have been alive. I recommend that you try any other place than NY...
Read moreWe have been eating at the various New York Teriyaki for years. We noticed that this one has stopped filling the small bowl that they give you the rice and chicken or beef in, for the rice/chicken bowl. You are already paying $6.95 for the bowl, and now they don't even fill it to the top of the bowl. You are getting such a small amount of rice and chicken or beef, really how much extra would it cost them to fill the bowl even with the white rice?! When I called to place an order and ask them about this, the woman hung up on me. We will never be going back, it's too bad because the flavor was very good. They lost our large family (and large orders)...
