Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at this enchanting Asiaan Buffet, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that left me craving for more! It was my own biology that prevented me from doing it. Nestled close to the heart of the city, this buffet restaurant offers an enticing blend of delectable flavors from various Asian cuisines that will undoubtedly captivate your taste buds.
From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable dining adventure. The restaurant's spacious and well-decorated interior and artwork, exuded an air of elegance that elevated the overall dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food! Minado Buffet boasts an extensive array of dishes that represent the culinary treasures of Asia. From the savory delights of Chinese cuisine to the aromatic spices, dishes, and everything in between, this buffet leaves no stone unturned when it comes to satisfying your gastronomic desires.
The vast selection of freshly prepared sushi rolls was a particular highlight for me. Each piece was meticulously crafted, bursting with vibrant flavors, and showcased the expertise of the sushi chefs. The seafood section also deserves special mention, offering an impressive selection of succulent shrimp, tender crab legs, and perfectly grilled fish that melted in my mouth.
The variety of dishes catering to different dietary preferences was commendable. Vegetarians and vegans will find themselves spoiled for choice with an abundant selection of plant-based options, including flavorful stir-fried vegetables, crispy tofu, and delightful vegetarian sushi rolls.
While the overall dining experience at the Minado Buffet was exceptional, I did notice an area that could use improvement—regular cleaning in the restrooms. Although the restrooms were functional and reasonably maintained, a more consistent and thorough cleaning routine would be beneficial to uphold the high standards set by the rest of the establishment.
In terms of service, the staff at Minado Buffet was attentive, friendly, and more than willing to assist with any requests. They swiftly cleared used plates, ensuring that the dining area remained clean and inviting throughout my visit. The restaurant's management clearly prioritizes customer satisfaction, as evidenced by the promptness and professionalism exhibited by the entire team.
In conclusion, Minado Buffet offers an enticing culinary journey through the flavors of Asia, making it a must-visit for any food enthusiast. The impressive variety of dishes, coupled with the elegant ambiance and attentive service, create an unforgettable dining experience. While a bit more attention to regular cleaning in the restrooms would be beneficial, it should not deter you from enjoying the remarkable feast that awaits you at this Asian gastronomic...
Read moreI took a guest who had never been to Minado, on a Thursday night, my first time back post-pandemic. Large selection, and at 5 pm, right out of the kitchen, or so it seemed. All the food my guest ate was deemed excellent and, judging by his extensive knowledge of Chinese food available in Yakima, he was qualified to say. Almost everything I ate was terrific as well. I especially liked the unbattered or lightly battered large squid.
Now, for the not so good. I have been eating sushi for nearly 50 years, back when anyone else turned their nose up to it. I have eaten the best the US had to offer. I am qualified to judge sushi. Minado’s sushi is usually very good. They do not use expensive high end products in it, and I do not expect them to. Most, if not all, their sushi is cooked. However, I do require the sushi rice to be spot on, which it usually is. The rice should not be broken and must be made with a specific type of rice. It should not feel mushy when eaten. The texture of sushi is very important. Avocado is great as an enhancement, but too much can just make the bite cloying. Sushi rice is never oily. Last night, I ate the worst sushi I have ever eaten. But, judging by the eager look about the sushi maker (who definitely was not Japanese), I think he may have been either learning or had tried to go a different, a much too different, direction. There was something off about the standard seaweed wrap as well. Is it hard to get right now and some kind of substitute is being used? Sushi works fine without seaweed. I hope this is seen as constructive criticism. I will certainly eat there again and I will eat the sushi again, but I will not appreciate bad sushi more than twice. I say try Minado anyway. You will find plenty to your liking, as well, I hope, the sushi. The servers are pleasant and efficient. The place is clean and well-lighted. The giant fish tank is a joy to every child, as are the kid-friendly foods. A chocolate tower and marshmallows is available, as well as a soft-serve vanilla or chocolate ice cream machine, several different fresh fruits, and several pastries (the tiny rum-flavored cream puffs are my favorite). They also have a “Mongolian” bowl bar. Always have ribs on the dinner menu (sweet style). I remember lunch, pre-pandemic, was worth the price, and the lunch sushi was very good...
Read moreExtremely mediocre food. It was edible, but I'm disappointed about the price. Dinner All-You-Can-Eat buffet price for 1 person is $19.99 pre-tax. When viewing this establishment from Google, they have a photo that says 4 Option combo $12.99 (I didn't & still haven't looked at when that photo was posted), so I checked their online menu which says the same combo would be $15.99. When ordering for pickup (not delivery) from Door Dash, it also says $15.99 (but Door Dash usually is a few dollars more each item compared to ordering in person). Decent price, assumed a decent amount of food to split with another person. Decided to order in person instead of for pickup through door dash, assuming take out was made-to-order & I could request an adjustment. I'm from out of town, never been here, asked the lady at the front if I could place a pickup order, and was instead instructed to dish my own take out container. Then I noticed the scale at the front. Was immediately nervous it was sold by weight instead of them having a flat-rate fee for a specific take-out item. I specifically dished smaller than i expected they would have, and then even less because my partner wasn't very hungry. They weighed my to-go container & it cost $18.99 pre-tax. Over $20 after tax for 1 portion of food when the buffet is $19.99. I wanted to decline the food & just eat the buffet instead but it was already dished up & I didn't want to be rude or wasteful, so I hoped it would at least be delicious. Felt like pricing was falsely advertised. The food absolutely sucked for the price for takeout, but I could understand the food quality for all you can eat buffet. When originally looking at the online menu I assumed it was cooked to order. Just a weird take out experience. The building looked clean on the inside. I would never eat here again. You can get better quality food & a larger portion at Panda Express. Lo Mein - overcooked Fried Rice - decent, nothing special General tso's - no heat level, really more like orange chicken, probably the worst I've had but it was edible Japanese Chicken - kinda like teriyaki chicken? Chicken skin left on, so really fatty overall, but great flavor, some...
