Kana Winery — Attraction in Yakima

We are new to Yakima and only been here about a month. Last Friday night, the first Friday of the month, we decided to go try out the wine. We had a blast. I'm the one in the group who is careful not to drink too much. Well the wine was so good, the music was perfect and fun to dance to, the staff made us feel right at home, and I think life and moving had gotten on my last nerve. I did drink too much, but the wine was so good... We're looking forward to going back in a few weeks. We have things scheduled keeping us from getting there this Friday and the following week. It's a must visit for those passing through and visiting the area. If you live here in the area I can't imagine if you like wine you not already stopping in. Since I over did it I'm glad that the wine, I drink red wine, doesn't give you one of those all day splitting headaches. I had a little headache for maybe an hour at most. We had an amazing evening at Kana winery! The staff (and owner) were incredibly friendly and the tasting included seven very generous pours. The wine was delicious and we even learned a bit about the grower/vinter relationship. Kana sources it's grapes from the best vineyards rather than growing their own. This way, the owner/vinter (Palmer) can focus on what he does best: creating Rhône style wines.

Kana staff understand safe social distancing and sanitized the table prior to us sitting down. Since Yakima County is still in Phase I, we enjoyed our evening on the patio and had fun conversing with locals (from six feet away, of course).

Went here on a Friday night while in town for a wedding because we wanted to try something local and there was an open mic night. I was wasn't sure about the open mic as it could be very hit or miss, usually miss, but the musicians were all very good and it seemed to be a small crowd of regulars who come and perform. Anyway it was so great! Everything, the server, the wine, the art on the walls, the music, it was a scene with a chill wine vibe and we wanted to be a part of it. Thanks for the fun...
