I would actually give 2nd Street Grill 2.5 Stars, for friendly service and cool environment, but everything else was not so good. We had a very large party (20+), which is understandably a challenge, but there were some big problems. First off, several of us ordered pizza, but the kitchen ran out of pizza dough, and had to substitute with flatbread (smaller pizza, and not so good). Secondly, it took forever to get our food. Third, I ordered street tacos with blackened chicken, and got street tacos with cod. I strongly dislike seafood, and asked for a replacement. Waiter said “absolutely”, and went back to the kitchen... I waited.... and waited.... and waited.... and it never came. Everyone in our party was done eating, when the waiter came back with nothing in his hand. I asked where my meal was, and he said that he thought the kitchen was making it, but they didn’t. He apologized, and said the cod tacos (that I didn’t eat) were on the house. Um, wut? Then the check came, and the flatbread pizza that was supposed to be half off due to their mistake, was billed full price. When I brought it up, it was taken care of. Pretty bad experience, but from the other reviews here, looks like a...

Wow. Really hit the road-trip-crave-of-food-craves spot. Ordered up the clam chowder bowl as an appetizer. Rich. Creamy. Nice, big serving (12 oz). Tons of bacon bits. Rich enough that I changed my mind about having a burger and fries. Opted instead for street tacos with shrimp and the aioli on the side. Delicious! Oh, how I've missed cilantro (husband is "allergic" to it so I seldom ever get to have it). But the flavors transported me back to my Mexican food truck days of my college years in CA. Tons of chips, plus plenty of tacos to fill me up. The shrimp was juicy and I liked it that the corn tortillas had soaked up some of the juices. Husband had the Grill Burger with regular fries and swapped out the raw onions with caramelized onions. He gave his meal an enthusiastic two thumbs up.
Atmosphere is great. High-end sports bar style. Lots of booth and table seating options. The brick walls are the original walls from the 1800s. Place was close to fully packed when we got here at 12:15 PM on a holiday (for most) Monday.
Our server, Bella, was wonderful. Kind....
Read more2nd street Grill has a good location in downtown Yakima. Very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. There are plenty of T.Vs for your entertainment. Most of them are showcasing sports events. The restaurant is dimly lit and seating is a bit tight so if the conversations of others bothers you then you may not like it too much. Although it didn't seem very crowded it took me about 5 minutes to get a server. She was nice but seemed rather impartial to fast service. The water did not come with a straw so if you are picky about that beware. I ordered the halibut fish and chips with a ceasar salad. Although the portions were very filling I felt like the preperation could have been better. The ceasar salad didn't have finely shredded parmesan, instead they were rather large pieces lumped in with the greens. The fish wasnt bad but the breading was very plain. Not even beer battered. The fries were the best part of the meal. They have an extensive drink menu and some other decent options. Maybe I should've tried something else. For a $30.00 meal with 1 alcoholic beverage I wasnt "wowed". Better...
