My sister in law wanted to go here for her birthday dinner. We called an hour ahead and made reservations for our group of 13. We arrived in time for our reservation and had to stand for another 1.5 hours while being told the entire time they were just waiting to clear our table. We tried to be patient, but it was getting worse by the moment. There was a table large enough to seat us the entire time, but they wouldn’t seat us there (the section was not closed). When they finally seated us they put us in the side section of the restaurant, with a group of 40! 40 kids and adults (adults were drinking heavily and the kids were running around the heathens). The volume in that room had our ears ringing. My father in law took out his hearing aids… The assistant manager was supposed to be helping our table, except she was more concerned with her smoke break, and when she came back 35 minutes later she reeked of cigarettes and perfume. She had a real chip on her shoulder and couldn’t understand why our table was getting frustrated. Had it not been my sister in laws birthday, we absolutely would have left, most of us wanted to. It took nearly an hour from the time we ordered to receive all of our food. The waiter who ended up taking care of our table was great, but that assistant general manager should be ashamed of herself. Our waiter was stuck taking care of 53 people, and doing his best. The support staff couldn’t be bothered when you tried to ask a question, and literally walked away mid question when my husband tried to ask for balsamic vinegar. Our waiter profusely apologized. The assistant manager literally blamed the other group of people for why we couldn’t have decent service or food. Once we got the food, that was good, the kitchen staff knows how to cook. But I will say no food is worth that experience. I hope that owner has the chance to read this, because if I was employing these people, they’d be looking for another job. We were treated like garbage from the start. Don’t waste your time going here. You’d have better...

I've waited to write a review on this restaurant. I have LOVED their menu each and every time I have went. Their salads were fresh, their sandwiches (especially the prime rib dip) has been excellent!

This last time we went we noticed the menu made a dramatic shift (More than its usual rotation). Familiar items were off the menu, prices were up, and overall felt "limited".

I ordered my usual steak. My significant other ordered the cod. When my steak came out it was smothered in an overpowering compound butter that all but ruined the taste of the meat. The steak was cooked perfectly but everything was coated in this sauce/butter and it was just too much flavor. It was a blast of almost a "musky" substance that coated your mouth and couldn't be washed with water.

The cod was coated in a similar sauce and smelled "off". We took a few bites of the fish. It had a consistency of calamari in terms of being "rubbery" and looked like it was boiled instead of cooked in a pan/over. The plate included a mushroom that was well presented and looked nice on the plate but was indistinguishable when mixed with the cod as to what part of the plate was fungus and what part was fish. Texture and taste blended between the two items and was confusing what we were eating. The fish had a seasoning on it that reminded us of something rancid and the sauce again coated the mouth and washed out any sort of flavor that the fish provided.

Overall we were massively disappointed in the meal and are going to end up waiting until this menu completely flips. Its not the best that CCK has had and I hope they can bring in new flavors that aren't being completely washed by odd flavored sauces that...

Ordered a burger well done, it came out mid rare. They serve these cut in half, so it should have been completely obvious. A runner delivered the food and was gone before I noticed the undercook. Waited for waitress, but she did not come back around. I ate the outer portion of one half that was cooked through, and ultimately split my wife's meal. When the waitress finally made it back, I let her know the burger was under, but at that point I was not interested in sending it back. They took it off the bill and the manager apologized. Things I did like: atmosphere is pleasant. The entry door is a huge wooden structure that is really interesting. They've got firewood stacked around, but I'm not sure that they cook with it, it looks decorative. I don't care for the way they serve water -you get an 8oz juice glass and and old fashioned glass milk jug with water in it, and you get to refill your own water without ice just about every time you take a sip. When the waitress came to introduced herself, she just asked if we "wanted anything to start." Neither my wife or I were sure whether she was asking for a cocktail order, appetizers, or even our meal? After she asked, she didn't say another word, just left is in uncomfortable silence, even though it was pretty obvious we were looking for some guidance. Sounds weird to talk about, but discussing t it later with my wife, we both thought it was strange. My wife enjoyed her meal (the part that I...

I came about a year ago and it was nothing special. Decided to stop by again and hoo boy was it like night and day. This time around I got the fried calamari with something called a Mexican green goddess sauce. The sauce? Tasted like a fancy tartar sauce, but the calamari was tender even though it was beautifully fried. All in all a nice start to an even better lunch. I followed up with the international harvester burger/Mac and cheese combo and GOOD LORDT. I am. SO FULL. At medium well, I still got a nice and juicy patty that had the squeeze factor where you squeeze the top and bottom of your burger and the cooked juices of the meat visibly run down the side. I found the bread choice to be kind of bland, but an interesting choice aesthetically. The bacon and grilled onion compote and arugula were nice, but the ace in the hole was the decadent gruyere and blue cheese spread. I could've eaten a side of just that cheese spread alone and been a happy camper. The Mac and cheese had some chilli flake on top and I assumed it would be a mushy take on a personal fave but the noodles held up through the entire time. An excellent side dish with or without the chilli flakes. Then to top it off, great service from an absolute legend named Joe I believe, and it went from a 4.5 to 5 star experience. He was a delight from start to finish, as was the filling meal.

CCK has always been a solid go-to, even with it being across town for us. We were surprised to see it so empty on a Friday night, but things started to click once the food came out. 🙈 It seems like they’re really trying to cut costs, and unfortunately, the quality is the sacrifice. I was genuinely excited to see the artichoke and Lateral A back on the menu, but both were a letdown. The artichoke aioli tasted like straight mayo with way too much lemon. Definitely not the same delicious version they served before. The artichoke itself was bland and not seasoned as it previously was. My Lateral A (photo attached) came noticeably smaller, with thinly sliced chicken that looked like it had been flattened or halved before cooking, no peas, fewer/smaller apples, and a sad powdery shredded cheese straight from a bag (I don’t even buy this kind of cheese, it’s so gross 🥲). My fiancé’s prime rib dip had maybe a third of the meat it used to. The whole experience just felt…lazy. Like the heart behind the food was missing. Fries and ranch are still great though! Thank goodness! Honestly, I’d rather pay more if it meant getting the quality and flavor we used to love. Really hoping this was a temporary dip and they make some adjustments. Would love to come back and update this review. Still love the staff though! They’re always awesome!
