Wow! We were hesitant to try this spot after having come one afternoon and seeing empty shelves. Should have realized that meant things were so good that they sold out early. Definitely recommend getting their early to get your pick. Coffees great, love the berry scones, nectarine and strawberry/rhubarb tartine, chocolate croissant, ham and cheese croissant, orange raisin roll, white chocolate cardamom cookie, chocolate chip cookie, and when i first posted this review the kouign amann was a heavenly soft and lightly sweet croissantlike delicacy but they must have changed their recipe and it’s now collapsed looking (compared to what it used to look like) and really thick crunchy outside bordering on burnt (would love for them to go back to that original recipe as it was hands down the favorite thing on the menu). Mushroom breakfast sandwich is good too - bread on it is pretty perfect. We are...

We were wine tasting in Yakima Valley & was informed of this place. We checked it out first thing on Saturday Morning (they aren’t open on Sundays). Had a little trouble finding but gave a call and was able to get confirmation that it was behind the Chase Bank on the corner across from Olive Garden. Walking in, they had a nice seating area (even for a larger group that appeared to be a commonplace). The display cases were filled of my options & coffee options aplenty. I didn’t see much chocolate options but that was okay with me. The lemon poppyseed cheesecake was an excellent choice - prefect consistency of the cheesecake & enough lemon to satisfy me. We chose a bunch of things to take back to our group. I would HIGHLY recommend you stop if you are in the area and it’s open. You won’t be disappointed (but if you are - Atleast you tried...

I used Essencia Bakery for my wedding on May 3, 2008. We decided to serve their “killer brownies” that you can get in their coffee shop. Ivon was very pleasant to work with, and we discussed different options for maximizing the sheet of brownies. She provided suggestions based on what we were looking for. We cut the brownies in half (we made two smaller triangles out of the huge squares that they normally serve in the store) and they looked cool and the smaller size was a perfect serving for a wedding. I didn’t shop around based on price, so they may have been a little more expensive than other options (I’m not really sure) but they were really tasty and definitely worth it!! I was very happy with everything, and would definitely recommend Essencia for deserts for your...

Just so we’re clear, the surgical masks you’re required to wear inside this bakery are useless as per CDC. It’s company policy to wear one, the kind employee says. Based on what science are you covering your face with a useless mask? But hey, please don’t use your common sense and logic; those went out the door 2 years ago. While some European countries have stopped asking people to mask up, US is far behind. Few people challenge the “science” of masks and even fewer try to think for themselves. It’s okay, I guess - as Bill Maher said, we don’t like to think here in America. So I won’t be coming into the bakery anymore, will not support this local business. I’m sure they’ll be fine though, plenty of people will continue to comply, comply, comply. Sleep well…

This is hands down my favorite bakery in Yakima! It has been for years and I have not realized I'd never done a review for it. I'm a fairly accomplished baker myself. And so I can tell you from personal experience and expertise that these guys are exceptional!!! I can make good bread but I buy theirs weekly. My favorite being the Palouse (sp?). Their desserts are to die for and if you happen on a day when they're making their fresh pretzel rolls do yourself a favor and buy a whole bag worth.
