When I first walked in, it was not all chaotic. Servers we serving, and the place didn't feel stale or muggy, it felt welcoming and had a real calm atmosphere. I went with my father, and he said the same thing. We were approached and were given a choice to sit were we wanted, and that is a huge deal for me. Im more private in my conversations, and we we able to pick the perfect spot we felt comfortable to sit at, and that alone raised the bar for me. Just being given the option took away any fear of others listening to our conversation, and it felt safe. Once we sat down, it was like a whirl wind of customer service. It felt like a mixture of military/5star attention. We were asked within 10 seconds of sitting what we would like to drink, and tables and silverware were clean!. . Floors clean, smelled great, and windows were clean and clear. I notice these things because it says a lot about a business owner, especially at a restaurant. Once we got our drinks, 10 seconds later we were given menus, and told to take our time. Within 3-4min. we were approached and asked if we were ready to order, or if we needed more time. We ordered quickly, and we amazed of the time it took from walking in to ordering was less than 5-7. Super quick, and we really liked that. After we ordered, I liked how fast and quickly everyone that was coming in, was being served quickly. I also notice many different nationalities eating. This made me Happy, because it really says a lot about a business. With so many cultural differences, and how different races of people eat, communicate, and live, many businesses fail to learn cultural sensitivity. This is important, because I see a business draw so many different people in, IT SAYS, WE ARE TOP NOTCH, and. your business & opinion matters for us to give every single person TOP NOTCH SERVICE. Once we got our food, it was AMAZING!. . Never had hash browns like that, eggs on point(over easy), bacon cooked PERFECTLY!, Sausage done right with great old fashioned flavor, refreshments FRESH!. . (refills were done quickly), biscuits & gravy done perfect 99.8 (maybe a bit more pepper to be 100), toast was my only uhh. I wish they would have served Texas toast with what was presented to us on our plates. If Texas toast is added, I would say this is the place to eat breakfast from the places I have been to, and go eat out a lot from Washington, down to Texas, and different countries. The verbal articulation, and the ability to get things right each and every time we requested things was on point 100%. It was nice going to a place that actually does its homework to make a great restaurant come alive during business hours is far and few, and a rarity now days. The servers made our visit a great one, and the chefs did their jobs TOP NOTCH, and served a breakfast that I believe would be hard to beat in any competition. This establishment is a my favorite for breakfast NOW, I will be going Saturday, and look forward to the same service. If we have the same experience, I will say this with confidence, IT IS THE BEST RESTAURANT FOR BREAKFAST IN THE YAKIMA VALLEY!. . Thank you Waffle Cafe for making my day a great one, and what a beautiful meal. It truly was art in my opinion to receive such great service, and a 5star meal. You have undeniably earned my business, and look forward to eating a great once more when I return with all my family. See you soon, and tell your team, THEY ARE AWESOME AND THE BEST I HAVE EVER BEEN SERVED BY, thank you. Have a wonderful 2024, and I will tell others of this great little restaurant we have found in our Yakima valley, thank you...

Let me start by saying, Waffles Café is hands down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve found since moving to Yakima from Texas—and that says a lot coming from someone who’s been around some great Southern cooking.
Now, I’ll be honest with you: Waffles Café isn’t in the prettiest part of town. In fact, it’s surrounded by one of the rougher areas of Yakima, with quite a bit of homelessness and transience around. It’s the kind of spot you might pass up just based on the surroundings. But let me tell you—don’t let that stop you.
The moment I walked inside, the entire vibe changed. The place was spotless, peaceful, and full of positive energy. The staff welcomed me with genuine warmth. It was clean, cozy, and inviting. Not only did my waitress take care of me like I was a regular, but a waiter also came by to check on me—it’s clear they work as a team and care about everyone who walks through the door.
The food? Exceptional. Large portions, served beautifully, and full of flavor. It’s one of the best breakfasts I’ve had anywhere, not just in Yakima. And the service was just as impressive—attentive, respectful, and full of heart. One young lady, probably younger than my granddaughter, was taking wonderful care of a group of older customers. That kind of compassion and professionalism doesn’t happen by accident. It’s a reflection of great leadership and a strong work ethic.
I used to stay at a hotel right next door for two weeks and never thought to stop in because I was always in a rush to work. Now that I live in Selah and drive by every day, I finally made the time. And I’m glad I did. It was a much-needed reminder that sometimes the best things are found where you least expect them.
So if you’re looking for top-notch breakfast, don’t judge this place by the neighborhood. Waffles Café is a hidden gem worth...
Read morethis post is for the west vally location only the 1st ave location rocks! went to the wv location today for brunch. after waiting for 20+ min for our turn we got seated, when asked if we wanting anything to drink, i asked for oj. (which i never got) we had noticed 2/4 top tables pushed together that they would not seat any smaller(2-4 people) at, soon a party of 5 got to walk in and were welcomed to walk past the approx 14 to 16 others waiting and seated themselves. so i informed the hostess that they had walked right past all the others that were waiting, she replied (with attitude) "that is a 6+ table only". at this point after waiting around 10 min for our order and no oj. me and my mother decided if they were going to treat other customers that way showed very poor managment and worst policy! so we got up and walked out. me and my mother have eaten at the 1st ave location many times and have been seated at larger tables when smaller ones were not availible. i will not go back to the wv location where they will make people with smaller parties stand and wait while holding tables open, hoping for a bigger party. i strongly urge other people to spend the time and gas to go to the other location, where the food is great and the customer sevice and policy is at a higher standard. cannot say enough good about the hostesses at the 1st ave location, i really think the other hostesses need to go to that location for training as well as to learn how to speak to cusomers. i will never go back to the...
