If I could review this with 0 stars, I would. I went with my husband for dinner here yesterday and it was the worst Italian restaurant we’ve ever been to. As soon as we entered, we got hit with a musty, old wood smell. I understand it’s in a historic Victorian home, but I didn’t expect to smell this in a restaurant. I’ve been to other establishments before that don’t smell like this. We should have left right away but we decided to give this place a try. The waiter sat us down and everything seemed fine until he brought out our appetizer. After that, it’s like he forgot about us. No one came to check if we needed more water. The bread that came out was so cold. I noticed the waitress was constantly checking on her table next to ours and I got frustrated. I had to ask her if she could get our waiter to bring water. Ridiculous. Most of the tables were occupied in this room so it’s not like he was busy elsewhere. He would come and didn’t even look in our direction to see if we needed anything. The service here was terrible and not like anything I’ve experienced. Food wasn’t any good. As soon as we left, we ended up having stomach problems from the food. Definitely do not recommend for the price of the food!!! Ambience, service, food quality, everything was below average about this place. I recommend you go to any other Italian restaurant but this one. I’m never...
Read moreService was good and food was fairly priced. Some were hits, others were not. I must admit... Their crispy polenta appetizer was delicious! Highly recommend. All their entrees come with a side salad, which was also very good although a little heavy on the red onion. For entree, I got the pork tenderloin. While juicy and tender, it was actually almost mushy and bland. The vegetables (not potatoes though) were all overcooked and mushy. The "gravy" was so full of fat and oil it kinda broke down in an oily puddle on the plate. I would not get this dish again. My husband got the Sunday Sauce special. The meatball and sausage were very good but the pasta sauce was very sweet and not well seasoned. It tasted like it came out of a can 20 minutes before we ordered. The pasta also seemed like it came out of a box and wasn't fresh. Both entrees were ok, at best. They have other items on their menu that I'd like to try, but not right away For dessert, I had the lemon tart which was delicious! And hubby had salted chocolate tart which was also good, although the sauce it came with tasted extremely boozey...kinda good but kinda over powering. Overall, a nice place with good service and ok food. Should note: we went on a holiday so maybe they were just overwhelmed and didn't have the usual cook...
Read moreI really wanted to like this local restaurant in an old Victorian home, but I was sadly disappointed. My food was good, but not as great as I would expect for the price. My dessert, however, was gross. I got the cannoli, took one bite, and that was it. Our waitress noticed I wasn't eating it and asked if I wanted it boxed up and I said no thank you, I didn't really like it and without saying anything she took the desert away and took it off the bill. She did ask if I wanted something else, but because my cousin's dessert was also not as good as I would have expected, I declined. In addition to the food just being okay, where I was sitting I was staring at a broken curtain rod that would have just taken a few minutes to fix and I was sitting next to a really dirty curtain that either needs a good washing or to be replaced. There were tired picture frames on the wall that were askew and the carpet was thin and gross. Again, for the price I would expect the inside to be kept clean and up-to-date. When the hostess came to reset the table next to ours she slammed everything down and didn't put anything straight. She left the salt on one side of the table and the pepper on the other side of the table. It seems trivial, but little details make a big difference in a...
