Caffè Gelato Bertini — Restaurant in Yarmouth

Usually, I find google reviews reliable but sadly, not here. 7 of us tried several different flavors but unanimously disliked this gelato (ie ice cream with more milk made differently, etc.) when we went the other night and we were all very disappointed given the glowing reviews. It was so average that most of us did not finish it. I want to give it 2-stars but we just didn’t think it was good. It can’t be good when almost everyone prefers to throw away our ice cream rather than finish it, right? I say conclusively and without hesitation, just go somewhere else. 😞

Maybe ownership or recipes changed and we couldn’t totally out our finger on it but heavily suspect they don’t use the highest quality milk and sweeteners and are using various flavorings much more than the actual items from nature (i.e. cherry flavor [natural or artificial is still not a real cherry]).

Given the comments above, it wouldn’t have made a massive difference but while service was efficient and hard-working, it was not particularly friendly.

Before dismissing me as negative fir writing a low rating, please see my other reviews. I try to write detailed, even-handed reviews to help others and have written many glowing reviews about many, many other spots. This place just wasn’t deserving in my (or 6 other visitors) minds based on our experience; far far far from and below its 4.9...

Delicious at their previous location, disappointing at their new one. My party of five chose larges, each composed of 3 scoops but no one felt they were good enough to finish.

No public bathrooms. The view of the small bird sanctuary was nice but the rest of the strip mall kind of ruined the vibe.

Two previous favorites, hazelnut and pistachio were not available. The pistachio was sold out and the server explained that they only serve hazelnut later in the day (we visited around 4:00) Beach Rose, a unique flavor based on the local roses that grow on cape cod beaches tasted nothing like it did two years prior. It tasted more like regular roses, so it’s possible they changed the recipe. Chocolate Cherry had no cherries.

Staff were pleasant but did seem a bit daunted by our order size.

Very sad with this experience, I hope next year will be better. Would hate to break an amazing...

It is interesting how you can get so amazingly surprised when you less expect it… After a hot beach day in Cape Cod, we were looking for a nice place we could enjoy gelato, and since last time we tried something in the area and we didn’t like it at all, I didn’t hope to find something very good. But from a local recommendation, I ended up entering this little cute and so welcoming cafe. My kids fell asleep in the car, and I ordered everything in to go containers, the ladies there were very helpful and patiently advised me on the flavors, I could have as many samples as I wanted, therefore I was able to mix and match for all tastes. It was a delicious gelato and both kids and adults enjoyed it. The only problem, was that after eating Bertini gelato, none we tried on our trip, didn’t fulfill our tastes anymore 😃 Whenever in Cape Cod, totally worth a visit to this...
