We had never been to this place decided to try it. HUGE MISTAKE We didn’t know where the front door was and ended up coming in the back door. We asked for both dinner and breakfast menu because we eat out ALOT. We ordered the special. Prime Rib for $17.99 it was on the menu as Friday special. But We inappropriately got a bill 5 mins into eating. Good lord we felt unwelcome. Then a meal was quickly soured as I looked at the bill it was $23.99 each for our special. I figure the waitress wrote it wrong. So I asked and she said their menu has all wrong prices and has not been updated in a year. It was a paper menu so a 2cent piece of paper. I said I am not paying more then menu price. She said you should have looked on some board at the front door that stated the special was different. I told her we came in the back door. She then told us the price stood with what was on the bill. So after we ate we were to pay the $12.00 difference and we should have know. I asked to talk to manger who said all the same stuff as the waitress and basically because we didn’t see the new price on some board in a doorway we never went thur for the meal that it trumped menu and it was our fault. I told her to call the owner because we were not paying more then the menu price. Finally we got the price on the menu but I ended up with a migraine and Stomach ache not sure if it was from the food or just that I had to fight to get what I thought I was buying in the first place a Friday night special for 17.99. They are foolish as we eat out 4 times a week and now that will be the last dime I spend there. But wanted to warn others before you get BAIT AND SWITCH!! Beware. They had paper menus that would have been easily changed. And the waitress could have told us the prices were different before we put our order in. Or an apology and a price change after the fact let us fix your bill. They were nasty and said, well we will change it this time but you need to ask for the price and read the boards next time. Am I at a restaurant or a garage sale that I have to ask how much everything cost well forget it NO NEXT TIME YOU HAVE ONE SHOT AT A FIRST IMPRESSION !...
Read moreIf I could give zero or negative stars I would. Our experience with Doug's Resraurant in Yelm was far worse than I have experienced in any service related business before. On the morning of August 16th, 2020 my wife and I walked into Doug's Restaurant in Yelm with our required face coverings on. I promptly tried to squirt some of the sanitizing gel from their dispenser onto my hands but, it was empty. We waited in the designated waiting area for the a hostess to seat us but, none came. There were patrons seated and eating so we knew they were open. We could also hear a serious BS session going on in the kitchen where someone was talking about their evening festivities the night before. After about 10 minutes or so the BS session stopped and a skinny blond woman about 55 years old came out and began to greet us until she noticed we already had pulled 2 paper menus from there menu baskets and were already reading them. They were photo copied 8x11 single page Dinner menus. We were there for Breakfast so we had slid the dinner menus back and pulled Breakfast menus from the other basket. Neither baskets were marked. The hostess quickly and abruptly collected all the menus we'd touched and rolled them up to throw away. When I informed her that several of the menus were stuck together when I took mine out she grabed those too, rolled them up and swatted me with them. She made a nasty comment about how she would have to make a bunch more now. That's when I realized she wasnt wearing a mask. News flash "if your going to require others to wear a mask, wear one yourself". At that point I told my wife we were going to leave and we walked out. Read moreTonight my boyfriend and I went for an early valentine's day dinner. We have had a good breakfast so we figured we would give lunch/dinner a try. I love to find good local restaurants to support. We arrived around 4, there was only us and 2 other tables in the entire restaurant. We ordered our food and the server came back and told us they were out of both things we ordered. We adjusted our order and from then on we never saw our server again, she never checked to see how food was, if we needed refills or anything. Our server never walked past our table again. We were literally left and forgot about. While we were sitting there we could hear other tables order food and the servers tell them they were out of multiple things. They were already out of multiple desserts. (With it being a Friday and Valentines day this suprised me) Multiple tables were asking about the dinner specials the servers told them they didn't know what they were and they would have to wait until 5 to know. I could tell by people's demeanor they were very irritated. Finally after finishing our bland burgers which were not made how we had asked, we set our plates with our napkins piled on top and waited for our check. About 15 minutes later a server grabbed our plates, another 10 minutes past, no check, nothing. We walked up to the front to pay our bill. Our server we hadn't seen in about 40 min now didn't ask us how our food was or anything. She literally said "no ones given you your check yet?" I honestly didn't even know what to say.
