Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Yorba Linda

We LOVE Bruster's!! We come here all the time for ice cream, and recently we ordered an ice cream cake for my step-daughter's 16th birthday. Recently she has had trouble with dairy and she misses regular ice cream so much. She asked me if I could find her a non-dairy ice cream cake for her birthday, and I remembered that Bruster's had some really good non-dairy ice cream flavors and that they made cakes. They totally went above and beyond! We chose our favorite of their dairy-free ice cream flavors (the non-dairy white raspberry truffle) and ordered the cake online. I figured if they used dairy icing she could just avoid that, but I didn't realize there was an ice cream "blast" on the cake as well. The store noticed that my order requested the non-dairy ice cream with the cake, and they went out of their way to contact me to make sure I knew that other parts of the cake had dairy in them, and they offered to make the ice cream "blast" part of the cake dairy-free. They told me that the icing around the edges had some dairy so my step-daughter should just be careful with that part, which was totally fine with us. I am SO appreciative!!! This is the kind of place that I want to give my business to time and time again because of that extra attention...

Gave them a second chance. First time there was difficulty with her taking our order, customer service and friendliness wasn't to be had and we were charged wrong but after our experience ordering we took one for the team & didn't say anything. The waffle cones were chewy and not very tasty. We understand it's new and staff is learning but Handles down the street was and they have been flawless across the board. We decided to try them again since the line at the place with an H in their name had a very long line. This time the girl was friendly, great customer service yet the ice cream is just okay and this time we had a waffle bowl which again was chewy and meh. One thing nice both times there was the sitting area the shopping center built, water feature, fireplace and plenty of nice seating. When compared to Handles the finish in second place. With a few more details, Bruster’s has amazing ice cream and all the flavors are rich and delicious. From the vanilla to the cheesecake to oreo to apple caramel crunch. Some flavors have chunks in them. Very generous portions. Delicious cones too. They have cups and banana splits and other stuff too that I haven’t tried yet. We love to measure my kid’s height to see if they qualify for the free baby cone. They will give any kid under 40 inches a free baby ice cream cone. We get vanilla with sprinkles. So cute. The staff is very lovely, and the lady taking our order is always smiley, helpful and patient with us sampling the ice cream. The open area next to Bruster’s has a lot of outdoor seating around the fire pit and little fountain.
