A visit to Handel's Homemade Ice Cream offers a mix of positive and average experiences, making it a good, but not outstanding, choice for a sweet treat. The initial impression is good: the presentation of the ice cream is appealing, and the servers are consistently nice and welcoming. This positive interaction definitely contributes to the overall pleasant atmosphere. When it comes to the product, however, the "homemade" aspect doesn't quite translate into a special taste. While the ice cream is certainly decent, I found the flavor to be pretty average. The pricing is fair, though I feel that a slight reduction would push it into the "value for money" category, as the current cost doesn't fully match the average taste. The quantity is fair for the price point. My biggest frustration is with the sizing structure. The small size, while manageable, cannot accommodate multiple flavors, forcing you to choose just one. Conversely, the medium size is simply too much for a single serving, which limits your ability to try the variety of flavors they offer unless you are sharing. This lack of a versatile mid-sized option is a minor but noticeable flaw in the customer experience. Overall, itās a friendly place with decent ice cream, but it doesn't quite rise above the local...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen to this location a couple of times.
First time there was a long line, which the staff efficiently went through. Amazing service. Evening/night crew has flow. 5 star line-up.
Second visit was late lunch/early afternoon, and there was no line. The associate that took my order looked blankly at me several times.
I read an item off of the menu board verbatim (Midnight Madness Malt), and got stared at. Said it again in the event I wasn't heard...stared at. A third time because shrug why not, and still got stared at.
My assumption is this associate is new and doesn't have a firm grasp of the menu yetā I too did not know the distinction between a shake and a malt at one point, because that seemed to trip them up.
Perhaps instill a sense of confidence in new-hires, or train the menu more, so that the interaction can be better handled...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm so bummed.... They don't have kids sized ice cream or even 1 scope on the menu.... So not only are they helping and contributing to our childhood obesity epidemic, they are promoting it! You're forced to give your kid a cone with 2 1/2 scopes on it. Or have to tell them why we are throwing away the other 1.5 scopes, or sharing it with their sibling (or get in an argument if the other sibling doesn't want that flavor as they only allow 1 flavor for 2.5 scopes). I'd like to not have a conversation with my kids why eating so much ice cream and sugar is bad for you. When we are supposed to be going to get ice cream for a positive experience/outing.
Response to owner... It's not rocket science. Just have a kids size. Even if it's a dollar less for one scoop people...
