Smoothie King — Restaurant in York

I have loved smoothie king for a long time..it’s my families favorite go-to place to get a smoothie or açaí bowl. The prices were already a little high but bc we love their acai bowls and understand that acai can typically be slightly more expensive than other desserts; I didn’t mind making the 24 mile trip to their location 3 times a week. Unfortunately for me, today was the last time. I understand that prices increase with inflation; but to add almost the price of a whole other bowl to the already $30 that I spend for 3 bowls, 3 times a week — I just can’t justify that. It’s also quite disappointing that I didn’t find out about any increase in prices until I went to pay and realized I was being charged 8 dollars more than I was charged yesterday. I’ve always thought of smoothie king as good products for the average family but a family of 3 paying almost 40 for a dessert. Great staff and great food but the price no longer works for me and I have a feeling I won’t be the only one. Wish you all nothing...

Not realizing the Locks Rd. York, PA location doesn't open until 10am on Sunday, I pulled up to the drive through waiting for someone to take my order. After a few minutes waiting, I drive around to the window and notice two staff members in the store. As I proceed to park in the front parking lot one staff member ran around the counter, locked the front door, then walks back behind the counter. The time was 9:55 am. There is no reason one of the two staff members couldnt answer the drive through intercom to let me know the store doesn't open for another 5 minutes. Good thing Tropical Smoothie Cafe is nearby. They will have my business from this...

edit; 3/17 ive been going roughly 1-3 times a week since my original review, & their service has gotten much better. Slightly reduced wait times, with good quality products. The only complaint I now have is the consistent quality of the smoothie bowls. I know the standard is a thick acai base, however about its a 50/50 of getting a soup bowl instead. The risk is worth however.

30 mins for a mobile order? im not even mad at the worker, as there was ONE person on the floor when i walked in. im mad at management for overworking their employees like this, & i can guarantee they arent paying them...
