My visit started by waiting for drink orders, and waiting to see our waitress for 25 minutes. My friend and I remained friendly and understanding because I know how busy restaurants can be. This was the first instance of the visit, not the biggest deal, but then later on it was time to pay. Our waitress, who I don’t recall her even telling us her name, asked us if we want separate checks and we did. Our orders were pretty easy, my friend had two items and I had one item on the bill. Not to mention, our cards we were paying with were also different colors, which you would think would make it easier to differentiate. After telling her twice, which card goes with which bill, she left and returned 10 minutes later. Asking again which card goes with which, and we explained one-two more times. The paid bill returns and she had swiped my card TWICE and paid for both checks with my card. Kindly, I went up to the hostess and asked to see my waitress to fix the mistake. I explained and she took the cards to fix it. A little bit later, the “manager” returned to our table with the checks and said “everything was fixed”, the waitress didn’t even come back. I had one question for her about the transaction and instead of answering my questions, she stated multiple times with an attitude, “I’m the manager here, I know how to swipe cards and use my own machine.” I was talking and she stormed away from the table. No apologies for the mixup at all and she didn’t even say “have a good night”. Nothing was also taken off our bill for the hassle we had gone through. The manager was the most frustrating part of the visit, because they made a mistake and she was being rude to me when my friend and I had been nothing BUT patient with this whole frustrating visit. Very unfriendly and no customer service...
Read moreWent to Maine on a little family escape to the zoo and beach, had a great time. Nearing dinner time we decided to go here, we had no idea what to expect, but the restraunt sits right next to the water and looked like a great place to try. Service was quick and standard, no complaints. Sat outside and enjoyed the great view. Once food arrived, at first glance, was very pleased. However when my two youngest bit into their grilled cheese ( which consists of two THICK slices of scali bread with a singular slice of cheese in between) they were quickly unimpressed and did not care to eat. My oldest had the burger which was by actually pretty good (after they brought the cheese on a plate for us to put on because they had forgot to put on). So far a fairly average experience and we have not even gotten to my wife's steak tip dinner. In which I can only describe this cut of meat, as the worst tips I've seen, and I'm including Aldi's on a bad day. She tried cutting through the fat to find something edible, to no prevail. We informed the server, and yes she did take it (and took it of the bill) however to my surprise not one person in restraunt seemed surprised, as no one asked us about the dish or offered my wife the chance to order something else to eat. All in all we left confused, my wife hungry, with no desire to ever return. P.S my lobster roll was good, but where can't you get a good lobster roll in Maine, I hope this helps you save your time and money and try...
Read moreReservations issue when I received confirmation text. Solved with a quick phone call. Party of 5 and a small child. Was not offered a kids menu; it should have been offered by the wait staff, but we didn't ask either. Food was excellent all around. Cocktails were good too. Calamari was cooked to perfection, had a sweet and spicy sauce that was dabbled underneath. Fried Dill pickles were perfectly crispy, and the Black Bean soup was delicious. Fried haddock plate was good, coleslaw was not seasoned well, very mayonnaisey. Beef tips were cooked exactly as requested, served with a lovely gold potato mash and seasonal vegetables cooked as they should be, not mushy, not hard. Cobb salad was good and the cheeseburger and fries were above ordinary. The 1 1/2 year old had an adult dish, the fried chicken w/gravy and mashed potatoes. Had 4 bites...at least the leftovers could go home. Bread was served after the appetizers and there were two, separated dishes provided on the table with roasted garlic cloves on one side and olive oil on the other. Only 1 person had a piece of bread and said it was ok. I would overall recommend this restaurant. Pay for parking down the street, so be prepared to walk a short distance. If you choose to drop off someone, be aware, this is a one way street, you will need to go to the end of Beach St and navigate...
