Whispering Sands Gift Shop — Local services in York

Unfortunately, my experience at this store yesterday 5/15 led me to review and leave this rating. I was there between 2:13-2:30 yesterday afternoon. I was looking at the sweatshirts. Here’s the problem.

If you stack sweatshirts about 9 sweatshirts too high, when someone grabs them, some will fall. I did the right thing and tried to fold them like the staff did. A older woman came up right behind me, shrugged and basically had a fit and threw those sweatshirts with attitude off the shelf. She kept making faces at me and sighing loudly when she realized I mistakenly took too many down.

If you don’t like your job, simply don’t work there. Especially in customer service. I’m so...

Loved this place! The owners are creative and super nice! The store is beyond packed with some cute items, I could spend a few more hours just looking at everything. Loads of souvenirs, decals, trinkets, ornaments, jewelry, handcrafted sections and the list goes on!! Prices are reasonable for a touristy area, right by the beach.

Street parking is available but it's a matter of finding an open spot. Parking is free. There were loads of other stores, restaurants and activities, within walking distance.

Highly recommend this place and happy...

I remember going in The Whispering Sands when I was a kid. My sister used to collect the mice you sold. I think she owns all of them. I also recommend the smell...idk what it was but it smelled great. I wish I had the money to go back home to York Beach. We used to go across the street to Pops Shell Shack. I'm so sorry he passed away & the shop is gone. There used to be a 5 & dime diagonal from you...I wonder if it's still there. I haven't been home in 35 years. Oh I forgot about The Golden...
