York House of Pizza — Restaurant in York

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. For years we were regulars at York house of pizza, but since it sold this place is a disgrace. I called to place a takeout order and was greeted with “Yeah?!” I asked to place an order… “Yeah!” I asked for an order of Mozzarella stick and got a response of “Mozzarella!” and was hung up on. I was never told how long, price, asked for my name, nothing. When I got there the place was trashed. Dirty tables everywhere and even trash on the floor. I stated I had ordered Mozzarella sticks to which a small bag was grabbed off of a stack of food, a dirty receipt was jammed into the bag directly touching my food and was given to me. I will also add the receipt stuffed in with my food wasn’t even for my order. These mozzarella sticks look about as big as something from the freezer section of the grocery store and they were about as cold as a non defrosted order. I threw them away. This place is terrible. Their customer service is awful, their food is awful and it’s not worth anyone’s...

My family and I were traveling through town and needed a quick bite to eat. My daughter wasn’t feeling well and we didn’t want to take a long time. We stopped here and got a large cheese pizza. I was personally hoping that they would have slices because I like to have stuff on my pizza and my family does not but that’s OK… I sucked it up and just ate plain pizza. L O L! The workers in the shop were very friendly and our pizza came out rather quick. It started to get a little bit busier after we got there so we lucked out about that. The price was very reasonable, and the pizza was tasty. It was a little bit greasier than I had hoped for, but it was still good nonetheless. The store itself looks like it had not been remodeled since the 1970s, but as long as they are friendly, and their food is good, it doesn’t really matter to me what the place looks like. Would give zero if I could. We usually order here on our first night in York every year because you don't have to deal with the crowds or traffic of downtown. Woman who answered the phone was rude and seemed like she couldn't be bothered with taking my order. Worst part was when I picked the food up. Not only did I stand at the counter for a good 10 minutes with no one asking me anything but the food prep on our order was disgusting. Same woman who did not want to take my order on the phone "hand made" our salad bc it was not ready when I got there even though all of the hot dishes were... I say hand made for a reason. This woman answers the phone and works the register, she took a plastic container of lettuce out of the cooler and with NO GLOVES proceeded to grab the additional toppings and place them on our food, yea.... Needless to say I didn't pay for the salad and will not be back!!! Go to the beach bucket...
