So we came here to finally see what all the hype was about this place and I must say I’m very disappointed. Not only did we not get to taste the food the customer service was 10x worse. So we seen a male server bring plates to a table where whoever was sitting there left out the restaurant. The plates sat on the table for about 10mins before the server went back and grabbed them and took them back to the counter where they held it. During that time we watched one of the waitresses (female Caucasian with glasses) put her fingers in the customers food and started eating the fries. She ate about 5 of them. During that time the supposedly owner stated that they could reuse this food. However before they had a chance to do so the two customers came back and sat down which at that time the male server grabbed the food and brought it back out to them.
Here’s my problem: Once food leaves the kitchen and touches the table it should have never been brought back to the counter where the rest of the food is sitting to be distributed.
I informed the customers that they shouldn’t eat their food as the server was eating from their plate. At which time the male server tried to talk over me and claim she wasn’t. When asked if I could speak with the manager he made it no better.
Instead to the manager listening to my complaint and concerns he called me a liar and tried to kick me out while talking over me as well. He stated this is my establishment and don’t come back. I told him to run those cameras back bc what do I need to lie for. I didnt know the customers first off and if someone witness someone eating from my plate I would hope that someone would warn me too!
Instead of trying to listen to the problem and easily correct it, he went straight into defense mode. Not to mention we sat there for almost a 40 mins and my party of 3 didn’t even receive our food yet. But after witnessing that, we no longer even wanted to eat there and left! Very...
Read moreI really was excited to try this newer restaurant in downtown Youngstown but I was unfortunately disappointed.
Positives: The service was friendly enough, seemed to be short staffed but our party had no issue. We had no issues with the expediency with the food, it came out in a normal time frame. My husband had the classic breakfast and really enjoyed it.
Negatives: -The menu was quite large , but there were no dietary options besides hearty and greasy foods. I could not eat because there were no healthy options on the menu. A salad would be nice, but there were no options for even a side salad. -There was an overwhelming smell of cleaning products, however, the floors were filthy and the glass of water that I was served was greasy. -My husband asked for orange juice with his brunch, however the restaurant was out of orange juice. How does a brunch place run out of orange juice? -Lastly, for a brunch place, the coffee was not good at all. It was cheap, watery coffee.
Atmosphere tried to give a fun city vibe, with happy daisies being the main theme. However, the seating at the high-top tables were awkward. The chair, on the one side of the table was fine, however, the bench side was too high for the height of the table.
I hope they are able to fix these simpler issues. My last suggestion, simplify the menu more. Maybe 5 breakfast options, 5 lunch options, then a simple à la cart / side menu. Doing this will give the staff less stress, it will give the patrons less confusion, people will be confident that the food is fresh, and it will give your business a greater margin of profit as there will be less chance for wasted food.
3 stars are given because my husband...
Read moreI ate here today, and I have to start with the fact that when I asked for my table, they asked if I was going to be drinking alcohol. When I said no, they handed me the mocktail menu. As someone who almost never drinks anymore, this was absolutely amazing. I really appreciated having options. The restaurant space is brightly lit and airy. It feels modern and fresh, if perhaps a bit too trendy. But the entire waitstaff were so kind and attentive, that I didn’t mind. I ordered the pork chops and eggs, and it came with toast and home fries. The eggs were the one dark spot in my experience. I asked for scrambled and they were so overcooked they were practically inedible. However, those pork chops are some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Bursting with flavor, and delightfully crunchy. And the toast was more like a Texas toast, buttery and excellent. And the home fries were large chunks of potato with peppers and onions, seasoned well and tender. Ok, so the eggs were over. Everything else was so good, I’d gladly return...
