French Quarter — Restaurant in Ypsilanti Charter Township

Placed a delivery order through GrubHub for 2 Jamaican Jerk Beef Sandwiches and some sides. The restaurant promptly called to say they were out of the beef- no problem, I get it. I explained that I'd hang up, take a look at their menu on my phone, and call back with 2 different sandwiches to substitute. The employee meant well, but apparently didn't understand me at all, because she proceeded to ask me if I wanted to cancel my order. I explained for a second time that I wanted to look at the menu and substitute two new items and she said ok.

I called back and requested to switch the order to 2 pastrami sandwiches. The same employee put me on hold, came back on and said they were also out of pastrami. At that point I told her to go ahead and cancel the order. To my surprise, 15 minutes later I got an electronic confirmation that the restaurant had started cooking the order and it would be delivered in 30 minutes...what are you cooking?! You're out of everything! I had to call GrubHub myself to cancel the order.

The food might be good, or it might not be! Their systems and operating procedures are so poor that it prevented me from finding out. But, based on how disorganized and untrained they seem to...

Wow, This place hasn’t changed a bit. I’ve been coming here since I was a little baby and I’m now 32 so that tells you a lot. Am I honest opinion they have the best fried chicken and gypsy and maybe even in Michigan. I’ve always loved that you can choose between original or spicy. The spicy really takes the flavor to another level. The chicken itself is actually infused with spices and different flavors. You really never need any hot sauce or anything with this type of chicken. It is just so flavorful and crispy. Now for the star of the show the gumbo and rice. It’s been a staple here for years and it’s really really good. Also, you must try their biscuits which taste unlike any others that I’ve had. Thank you to the restaurant staff and the owner for keeping a gem like this place open for so long. Usually when a restaurant says they there's an upcharge if you aren't paying cash it's no more than a $1. I was charged around $4. The price I signed off on did not reflect what was actually taken out of my account. I've been looking for a business number to call for clarity and none of the phone numbers listed online are in service. It was my second time coming here because the peach cobbler is hot, so I figured I'd try some food. Just like other reviews have stated the food is bland. There was something about the catfish I can't quite put a finger on but it's safe to say my dog was happy. I don't really see myself coming here again.
