Toarmina's Pizza — Restaurant in Ypsilanti

UPDATE: I heard the restaurant is now under new management. I have not been here since the new management came in.

The WORST experience I’ve ever had with any restaurant in my life.

I ordered online, waited an hour and a half until I called to inquire about our order, they told me they missed our order and we’re going to start it and get it out ASAP. Okay I understand mistakes happen, not upset. Then called again when it took another 45 minutes (the restaurant is 10 minutes away) just to inquire. Then out of irritation I was told by Dorian (manager) that our order would be voided. Just because he was irritated at us for asking about our late order.

The restaurant proceeded to dodge my calls. I didn’t understand what was happening. It’s 2 and a half hours later at this point when I speak to an employee who told me “your order is definitely on the way it should be there any minute “

Okay, as long as it was on its way I didn’t care, I was just hungry after a long day. After about 20 minutes I realized my food wasn’t coming. I called and asked to speak to a manager (Dorian) and asked what was going on, he said my food wasn’t coming. I asked about why I was told by an employee that my food was coming when it wasn’t and he said “You didn’t speak to me about it.”

He just didn’t seem to care at how unprofessional he was being or was remorseful for any of his actions. He literally told me it was 2 minutes away from being delivered when he canceled it. All you had to do was let it get delivered, but instead you deliberately chose to ruin the order.

We were told to pick up our order in 30 minutes. Got there in about 30 minutes and waited another 15 minutes. The food was hardly chewable. The pies were over-cooked and under-topped. Our BLT pizza was a 14 inch and they charged us for it, then made a 12 inch and gave us some money back but the order was incorrect which is a bad start. The BLT also didn't appear to have any mayo or miracle whip on it. Both the pizza and the cheese bread were mostly bread. And we usually order butter or flavored crust, and I'm pretty sure we did this time, but the whole experience was dry, very hard to chew, and mostly bread. Theres a lack of spices, toppings, cheese, and sauce. Lastly the cinnamin bread was made like a circular pizza but the crust didn't have any cinnamin on them. Just cinnamin in the middle. And once again it ate like very rough piece of jerky.the BLT was also made of these huge chunks of bacon and lettuce which made for a poor BLT experience. There was like 3 chunks of lettuce and 3 chunks of bacon on each slice which was an unappetizing proportion. (Not enough, too spread out) the gentlemen that greeted us were both very pleasant, but I wouldn't get this places' food again. It was such a bad experience, I felt like I had to...

Ordered dinner from them for the first time and it was delicious! We got delivery so I cannot comment on the location itself unfortunately. One of the big reasons we decided to check them out is we discovered they had vegan options available, although they don't do anything to advertise it as far as we can tell.

We ordered a vegan build-your-own chicken pizza and vegeterian pickle pizza. Again, it was delicious.

I'll note, though: their online ordering is a bit confusing (re: vegan options). Their own website online ordering and Doordash have different, exclusive vegan options listed so we have no idea what's actually available. Doordash had vegan chicken as a topping but not sausage or ground beef, whereas their website had vegan sausage and ground beef but not chicken. No idea. But the vegan chicken build-your-own pizza that showed up was great.
