Fernandos Cali Kitchen — Restaurant in Yuba City

Hands down, the best restaurant in Yuba City right now. I've been eating here all year and now I feel he has just perfected things to the point of every single thing I eat is out of this world phenomenal and swoon worthy!! I am not a huge salad person but the sonoma greens hits the spot every single time, even when I'm craving carbs!! I thougth it was all about the carnitas, but Ohhhhhh myyyyy freaking goodness, the honey shiracha chicken will be my salad go to from now on!! The carnitas are still phenomenal, but I will keep them to the cali burrito, which is my #2 fave along with the chipotle mayo. Honorable mention for the fish tacos!! Everything is fresh and flavorful. Tho for me personally, my lesser faves, at least in the past, have been in the italian section of the menu, it's still very, very good and I may at some point try that side again, but I have found so many other phenomenal menu items, it's hard to try something else. The one thing on the italian side that you don't want to pass up is the Tiramisu!! I worked in a high end italian restaurant for many years and have had lots of Tiramisu from many places and have never been a big fan. That's until I tried Fernando's Tiramisu! I now go in solely to get a slice sometimes, it's that good!! The service has also evolved and improved, not that it was bad before, you can just really feel the team coming together and fine tuning!! His prices are on point as well, especially for what you get. Not pretentious, very welcoming atmosphere but still higher end ambiance for date night! This was my first visit and it won't be my last. I have been  building up my momentum to check this place out.  Well today was "the day."  I wasn't disappointed at all. Fernando’s is a happening joint. The food is like smoking weed for the very first time and getting a one time high. This place as you can read all the 5 star reviews on yelp stating the food is exquisitely delightful, with a tiny bit of awesomeness and scrumptious taste of delicacy.  A round of applause on my behalf.  Here's to an excellent choice of a great hole in wall restaurant.  The food exquisitely prepared and beautifully presented on a platter.  Their location is quite secluded, but the diner looked quite appealing from the outside.  However, parking was limited on a busy day though. I am an extremely satisfied customer today. I will definitely be back and try all variety of things on the menu. The fish tacos are yummy 😋 delicious. On my next visit I'm trying the salmon and calamari steak is my favorite, but I going to come again to try everything else on the menu. 😍 I am now a forever customer. THE BEST FISH TACOS EVER. I usually don't like Fish Tacos(only my own). These are so full of flavor. Your first bite you get the shell, fish, then the pineapple salsa and sauce just explode with flavor. It's that good. Carnitas are good & flavorful. Salmon & Salad are hubby's go to & the sauce on the Salmon is incredible. It's not fishy just real tasty. Black & Blue Chicken, Portuguese Pasta, Shrimp Scampi are also delicious. They're even good the next day. Tempura Prawns (his own coating)are a great appetizer too. I eat here as often as I can and I am never disappointed. I've introduced many friends & family here and they amazed with the flavors of the food. Fernando has a way of mixing flavors that are unbelievable. Fernando is fantastic at what he does. Genius.
