Although the waitress was pleasant and warm, the food just didn’t live up to our expectations. I ordered the steak and fries and it was just awful. I really wanted to like this place and the ambience is cool, but the food tasted like reheated frozen food. My steak was bone dry and rubbery and just of the worst quality. On every bite, I had to work out my jaws and pull out inedible pieces. For such a small steak I couldn’t even finish eating half of it. The char flavor tasted too bitter as well, which, again, I usually love but it was just off with this one. I also thought the portion size was stingy on the fries. My wife ordered a burger and she was also disappointed that it wasn’t the diner standard but more like school lunch quality. The fries were fine but also inconsistent. Mine were pale and limp while my wife’s were a bit overly crunchy. To top off the bad experience, I got a refill of the wrong soda at the end (I think it was diet, of which I’m not a fan). I didn’t bring it up with the staff (I would’ve if the waitress ever asked how my meal was but once the food was brought she never dropped by again but to bring the bill and give one last refill of watered down soda). I don’t think I could ever come back here or recommend this to anyone. In fact, I’ll advise to stay away.

They love our military and they support them, and the retired SR-71 maintainers meet up there periodically for breakfast. What wall is full of photos and images with Yuba City history, and the other wall is full of images with military history and photos of military personnel that were born and raised in Yuba/Marysville. The place is also really clean and fresh, and the food is awesome. Tony Bevacqua, who is 92 years old and still lives in Yuba city, flew both the SR-71 and the U-2. He signs several pictures of the wall, and so did many of the other military Pilots and personnel.

Let me start out by saying that Linda’s makes the best pancakes in town; they are each the size of a dinner plate and so fluffy! However, this review is actually focused on their pie! Their pies are amazing. I called two days ahead of time to ask if I could order a cherry pie for my husband’s birthday. It was ready to pick up today, as promised. My husband said, “It may very well be the best cherry pie I’ve ever had!” I had to agree. Cherry pie is his favorite, so he has tried many. ;-) Delicious!

If you want delicious food and great customer service, I'd highly recommend dining at Huckleberry's breakfast and lunch! We should have gone with our first choice, but I decided to try something new for a change.

I wanted to like this place because I love old-fashioned diners, and yellow happens to be my favorite color. But like many of the other 1 star reviews say, the wait for our meal was ridiculously long. My husband and I were open to trying something new, so we visited Linda's Soda Bar & Grill. I noticed 2 other tables next to ours that arrived 10-20 minutes after we were seated, were served their meals before us. Our waitress was friendly, and we had no issues with her. But I believe there was a problem with either kitchen staff or management. We decided to pay our check and leave. They packed our order to go, and we decided to give the food away to someone less fortunate.

The issue could have been anything as to why the wait for food always takes forever, it seems, but one thing is for sure, we will be going to Huckleberry's from now on.

Lesson learned: Read negative reviews before trying...

TERRIBLE SERVICE!! So I just happened to be in Yuba City to drive someone to an appointment. All I wanted was a salad and a side of fries. When I ordered, the girl with the orange hair and glasses said it would be about 10 minutes. I said ok and i wait. I just got a weird vibe from the whole place since different patrons were eyeballing me hella hard. I wasn't trying to think anything of it but after waiting and waiting for a simple salad, it became clear that this might be a "locals only" type of place. There were some good old boys staring at me really hard. The wait staff wasn't friendly. Even though they saw me waiting for a long time for a salad, no one stopped by to say 'hey it'll be a couple more minutes'. After 30 minutes, I asked about my order and suddenly someone came up with my order. And the girl bagged it up and was looking at me all scared at the same time. So my salad was sitting for 30 minutes getting soft and i got limp, bland fries. Basically, Linda's hustled me out of $20, they probably need it so it's ok. Jesus and...
