I've been to Marcellos twice: once with a date for dinner, and once by myself for the lunch buffet. I don't give out 5 stars often so this place is good!
Atmosphere: Marcellos is small and quiet place, just the way i like it! No screaming little kids, and no large gatherings of people! Dim lights and a professional setup make this place look like you're really treating yourself as opposed to just eating out. The bar looked like I'd probably be hammered off one drink.
Cleanliness: the tables are all covered and replaced with every customer. Plating and napkins are laid out well. The bathroom was clean. Servers looked well groomed, and the customers appearance made me feel like i was where i belong.
Service: both visits the service was superb. During the lunch buffet my glass was never empty before a refill. During dinner the waitress was very accommodating to us and she even boxed our stuff! She also somehow knew that we wanted desert to go without us telling her... strange mind reading or good service? I don't care because it worked out well!
Food: Marcellos does Italian food right. The lunch buffet is a steal at $10.95/person (i think). The buffet is very small, however everything on the buffet is fresh and taste great! For the dinner visit, we both ate good food and had stuff to take home, although i forgot what i ordered :(
Value and general observations: Marcellos is low key, comfortable, professional and affordable. As previously stated, the lunch buffet is great. For dinner, I'd highly suggest it as a place to take a date because of its higher scale appeal and affordability. When we went i think the bill was around $54 less tip, however that included her glass of wine, an appetizer that we shared, our meals, and two canolis to go. I don't care for canolis, but when we got home and threw them in the refrigerator for a little bit then ate them... they were amazing! And I've had canolis right from New York too!
Whether lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong with Marcellos. Forget the movie and just go here for dinner. You'll probably spend just about as much on two movie tickets, popcorn and...
Read moreIf you appreciate special attention from your Chef & Servers, give Marcello's a try. We booked 2 dinners in 1 week, the first dinner was our introduction to Marcello's unique Ristorante, he will take your reservation, call to confirm, shop, prep & prepare your meal. An unassuming strip mall location has been transformed into a cozy dining room where a team of servers will greet, seat & make sure you are well taken care of. Chef Marcello creates a daily menu after selecting the freshest seafood, meats & vegetables to tempt you from the chalk board pulled table side. As your server describes the menu in detail you realize that you will probably have leftovers for lunch the next day. Generous portions are prepared to order in the open kitchen, this is not a dining experience to rush through. Enjoy a bottle of wine from their well-priced list or a cold beer with your warm bread slathered in garlic-herb compound butter as you watch your Caesar Salad prepared table side. No skimping on flavors at Marcello's. We have enjoyed the Flintstone-size breaded Veal Chop on Arugula Salad, Lobster Sauced Pappardelle, Black Truffle Pappardelle, Sea Scallops & Cioppino. Desserts are worth sharing. You'll feel like you've had a very special evening with friends when you walk out of Marcello's. Reservations are a must, parking in front. We plan to become regulars, thanks Mark & Joshua for...
Read moreWe had the best experience and dinner at Marcellos tonight. We started off with a spicy Bloody Mary, that was beautifully garnished with a slice of lemon, green olives and a stalk of celery. The texture was spot on and the spice was PERFECT! I asked for spicy and that's exactly what I got. For dinner we ordered green salads (green leaf lettuce, a bit of purple sliced crisp cabbage, black olives, pepperchinis, slivered carrots, croutons and the perfect amount of dressing). We also decided to share a slice of lasagna, because we knew we'd order a cannnoli for dessert. The lasagna was served hot and it had delectable cheeses, red sauces, italian spiced meat and perfectly cooked lasagna pasta. The cannoli was fresh and crisp and the filling was sweet, but not over the top sweet. It was drizzled with chocolate, whipped cream and a cherry on top. YUM!
Our server was Amanda and she has the best personality. She was fun, professional and prompt. Thank you for the BEST customer service!
Earlier in the day, we went to the new chain restaurant in town. The service there was okay, but the food was not. It may be the new shiny penny in town, but if you want great food, choose Marcellos. Marcellos is a family owned business and they contribute and donate back to our community. Keep that in mind when you are looking for a restaurant in...
