Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review for La Casita which saddens me because up until my recent visit I used to love to come here and was considered a regular. I came in May 21st, 2023 which was this Sunday afternoon. After my weekend away at my residential job I was looking forward to dining here, but had a very bad experience. My husband and I ordered tostada bowls and the shells were stale. We let our waiter know and he did the best he could to make it right and brought us new shells, but they were still stale. Miguel, the "manager" on duty that day tried to comp our bill ONLY for the shells. My husband asked to speak with the manager and asked if they could comp either our drink or an entree from our bill. Miguel was very nasty in his response, argued with us in front of everyone, walked away from us and said, "Yeah whatever! Next time don't order that then!" I have called and asked to speak with the owner, Ramon, several times by now and I keep getting excuses from both Miguel and Oscar as to why Ramon "isn't available." I am very disappointed in how rude the staff have been to us especially because they know who we are and that we go there often. Up until this incident, my husband and I always looked forward to going to La Casita and ALWAYS recommended it to others. My husband and I are very kind and easy going people and we don't usually complain. This is the first Yelp review I have ever composed and unfortunately it's not a good one. Everyone who sat at the bar and witnessed Miguels unethical behavior was very upset and basically sat there and talked with each other about how disgusted we all were with the service as well as the food. Of all places I could've dined at I chose La Casita and they behave as if they can't afford to make things right when something goes wrong but also are very disrespectful and behave as if they don't need...
Read moreThis is my second time here and the service was questionable at best both times. The first time we waited so long for our food we were about ready to get up and leave. The gal working the bar was also the waitress. No other help. The manager is pathetic in that all he did was stand there. Didn’t even have the decency to step in and help. His excuse for the extra long delay for our food was new cooking staff. My wife gave the manager an earful when we left...and she’s not the type to normally complain.
The second time was more of the same. We went to the bar and ordered drinks. After a while we ordered our food...a sampler plate...after watching others around us order and get their food I said something to the waitress. This time the food excuse was the paper jammed and the kitchen didn’t get our order. In addition, the manager my wife spoke to the first time was on duty. Do you think he had the decency to come over and say anything like “Hi I’m glad to see you’re back. The please let me know if you need anything.” Nothing! Not a word.
Some of the food also on the sampler platter had an odd taste. Kind of like old or burnt oil taste. Not quite rancid, but close to it. The only upside to this place is Christine the bartender. She’s very sweet.
I’m a big believer in giving a place a second chance. These folks totally blew it bad both times. They won’t be seeing us here again. Pathetic. Manager needs to...
Read moreI had dinner here a couple of nights ago and got a bad case of food poisoning. I became very ill (vomiting) within 1hr of eating . I went to the ER and they said I had food poisoning. I was given a IV and some Meds. I contacted the general manager of this restaurant to warn him. All he said was he was sorry but then went on and on about how clean his restaurants are and that it would have been impossible and wanted to know if I had proof, paper work from a doctor stating it was food poisoning. I wasn't asking for anything from him. I just wanted them to look into the matter so this would not happen to someone else. If this were my business I would want this information. After I told him I did have paperwork from the ER. He didn't ask my name, my phone number or ask me to make a report so they could find out what happened, if someone working there was responsible or whatever. From our conversation I don't feel he cared or will be doing anything with this information. Knowing this now I will never go back to any of their restaurants, will not recommend them to anyone and will let people know why for...
