Oink Joint Zebulon — Restaurant in Zebulon

This used to be my favorite place for BBQ. Not anymore. I ordered the two-meat plate with brisket and chicken thighs and a side of smoked sausage. The brisket was so dry I had to drown it in bbq sauce to choke it down which completely defeats the purpose of eating brisket as the sauce will cover any smoke and meat flavor there from the brisket. The chicken thighs were so small and it is very hard to mess up and make chicken thighs dry but they were. The smoked sausage had good flavor but the top was so dry it took away from the enjoyment of eating it. For my sides, I had baked beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was soggy and not the way it used to be AT ALL and the baked beans while they had a good flavor they were too spicy. My son's brisket sandwich was also very dry and hard to eat. The sweet tea was good and the girls up front were very pleasant. When I spoke with the manager (owner's father) he got visibly irritated and became condescending and not friendly at all. This is regarding a takeout order.

I’m not from GA but happened to pass thru Zebulon and needed to find a quick spot to grab a bite. Upon scanning the food row in Zebulon, Oink Joint immediately caught my eye.

Upon entering the establishment, I was immediately greeted warmly by the 2 ladies by the register and was immediately helped. Service was warm and not pushy

Ribs seem to be their Friday and Saturday specialty exclusive item, and could not pass up on the opportunity to give it a shot. And I’m glad I did. Ended up ordering a half rack and it came with 2 sides. Went with the classic - Mac n cheese/ Baked beans duo and a large sweet tea to wash it down. All the food were executed perfectly. The service was top notch, they even offered extra sauce to go with the meal — and best of all orders were made super quick without having to wait long.

Street parking seemed ample and posed no difficulty.

I am extremely disappointed at this location in zebulon ga(Pike county) because I absolutely love their ribs on the weekend. I visited this location August 27th, 2021 and I was surprised that none of the staff had on mask or gloves while handle the food but was even more shocked to see a young lady walking around with an ordere ticket in her mouth talking to the other staff and then also proceeded to take the ticket out of here mouth and place the ticket on top of some containers that were going out with an order. There was no regard for the customers safety being that covid is back on the rise this really upset me because I drove two cities over to have dinner.
