The wait staff has always been great and the food is good, but nothing better than any other Mexican place around. I find that for the same quality in food the price is not comparable to nearby restaurants that offer the same cuisine.
Tonight my family and I visited and found that everything we ordered was at best okay. Except....The torta sandwich lacked flavor and the cheese enchilada was chewy with the red sauce tasting overcooked and almost scorched. We let the waitress know that is tasted bad and not as usual. This wasnât our first visit so we knew something was not quite right. We asked for a cheese enchilada sans red sauce and asked for cheese Sauce instead. She said okay but it will be an extra $2.00. Okay, great! The waitress says to us that she will retrieve the manager so the manager comes by and says we can get the second enchilada but to add cheese to top it would be an extra $2.99. đ§ so we decided it wasnât worth paying for at that point. The manager didnât apologize for the quality and wrote it off as if thatâs just what it tastes like and it simply doesnât appeal to everyone. I would have agreed if this was the first time ordering cheese enchiladas from this very restaurant several times in the last few months, but that was not the case. But hey. It is what it is. No big deal.
We get our receipt and find that we were charged a $2.45 fee to use our debit or credit card. I have never had another restaurant charge this before and have never received this charge from visits past at this particular place. Again, no big deal.
I go to pay. The manager who came by our table earlier was ringing up my check asks me how was everything. Really? So since he asked I just said not good. He asked why. So I tell him that the food was subpar and that I didnât appreciate the customer service we received and how I would have expected more over a small and minor problem, and the nickel and diming everything made it less enjoyable and ridiculous. Instead of listening to some honest feedback he escalated into defense mode. Was snarky and condescending. Which validated my concerns. I told him he didnât have to have that attitude because I was just pointing out my problems that he asked to hear! He said he was the owner of the establishment and that he wasnât being condescending. He was rude, unprofessional, and made it obvious he did not care, which are not at all the characteristics of an actual owner of a business.
I really enjoyed this place until my interactions with the...
Read moreMy negative experience at Paloma's restaurant. It is truly disappointing when a dining establishment fails to provide a welcoming and pleasant experience for its customers. The fact that the staff yelled at me when I tried to park is completely uncalled for and reflects a lack of professionalism. Additionally, it is concerning that they didn't even invite me inside as a customer, which is a basic expectation when visiting a restaurant. The service i received during my one and only visit was evidently terrible, and it is even more disheartening to hear that it occurred on a night that wasn't busy. Regardless of the level of busyness, a restaurant should always strive to provide excellent service and make their patrons feel valued if at all possible. The fact that the staff made me feel stupid and yelled at me, despite my intention to dine there after completing my school work, is simply unacceptable. It is even more troubling to learn that this has been the experience of multiple people, despite the parking lot being empty. This raises concerns about the management and overall conduct of the restaurant. Customer satisfaction should be a top priority, and it is important for businesses to ensure that their employees adhere to professional standards of behavior. This is why 1828 coffee shop has my heart even if they donât sell a lot of options of food I am still pleased with 1828 coffee shops environment unlike a restaurant thatâs never busy and doesnât have a grasp of yelling at customers is highly uncalled for and should never happen regardless of if Iâm going to which place first. For a student itâs hard and unsafe to park anywhere else and not caring about a possible customer safety is selfish...
Read moreMain entree was not very good, Chips, salsa and guacamole was good and service good but waitress did not know prices for drinks or appetizers based on what she said and what we actually were charged and must not have realized it was Friday at first. We were later informed that there are no food specials or drink specials on Fridays...we ordered 2 margaritas and they were awful and she said we could try 2 different ones and took them and then came back and said the manager said she could not take the original 2 off of our check. No fault of waitress, this is on the manager. So, we passed on more margaritas and had to pay for the ones we did not drink.Never been treated that way at a local restaurant This place is too expensive for the quality of food in my opinion. We split an entree and our bill with tip and service charge for debit card was $50. We will not he back. Too many other choices for Mexican...
