Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Zebulon

Drive-through line is always out into the main road which causes a dangerous situation. Sign on the door and also calling in verbally confirming that the dining room is open for takeout only, but the door is always locked! Even after you had called just 10 seconds earlier confirming it is open for takeout! This has happened my last 3 visits! This is not a mistake. This is young teenagers left to run the place, and just do not care about running business away by not opening up for carry out as posted or verbally confirmed over the phone. These young teenagers working in there (ie: bleach blonde girl with silver nose ring on left nostril and several others) In the evening are angry and upset because you knock on the door to be let inside to place a take-out order. (Man mopping floor was very rude as well- telling me “drive-thru is open- and standing in my way to deter me from walking to the counter to place a take out order) - then all the teenagers ignored me while at the counter and would look at me and roll their eyes and not acknowledge me. I had to finally call out to them “Hello? Can anyone take my order? (I guess they all want to get paid to just serve one customer at a time thru the drive-thru? Don’t tell customers over the phone when they call that is open for takeout, or place a sign on the door said saying it’s open for takeout, if it is not!!! The owner is such a sweet guy, and makes you feel yoU are an appreciated customer. Unfortunately, letting this kids run the place in the ground in the evening by locking the doors to prevent customers from placing takeout orders, allowing the traffic to back into the main road (making LOTS of customers to just drive away) is hurting the owners bottom line now and in the future by making customers refuse...

Update: 5/18/23. I want to brag on a young man who served us tonight, Tristan. Yes he's fairly new but he was absolutely rocking it. They were short staffed plus very busy and the girls working in there had NO hustle whatsoever. But, Tristan maned the register, ran food that was handed to him, made fresh ice creams as fast as possible, and still managed to be polite. A nice young man for nightshift indeed.

2/25/23 nightshift has had some real improvement lately. They were quick, polite, and amazing with service tonight!

I had another great experience here and even though they were busy today my got my food in under 5 minutes! There were cars lined out into the turning lane and I still got my food this fast and with friendly service. No dairy Queen around can beat Zebulon...

I only rated this a 1 star so I could give a review.. Complete mess of a staff on the night of Oct 21st 2021.. customer service was a joke. Ladies working at drive thru try to start a fight with my wife and order was completely wrong and I ask the lady to not run my card until she verified my order. She still did and had to refund us right after. People not working at store behind counter 100% my kids were in back seat and verified. Ask for a refund and got told no. I will not eat this meal because I'm scared of what staff may have done to my food. Asked the 2 ladies their name and got silence. I said don't worry about lying just have a good night.

Lived in county for over 20 yrs amd by far the worst experience of any...
