Casa Viera — Restaurant in Colonia del Sacramento

✓Excellent in every way. ✓We did not have a reservation at 8:30pm, walked in after reading good reviews. ✓We were greeted politely & given our choice of tje only two tables that were available. ✓We chose to be seated in the indoor courtyard between the bar & main restaurant. ✓Through a window we had a view into the kitchen, very interesting to watch. ✓A small vodka & berry cocktail arrived with the delicious bread basket & dip. ✓ We shared the empinada appetizer & they were full of beautiful BBQ sauce & braised beef. ✓One of us ordered the ravioli which arrived with an amazing & different, buttery sauce with candied pecans & a few roasted cherry tomatoes. An absolute star of Colonia del Sacramento!

We were visiting the town midweek, for the first time so weren't sure how our dining options would go. Fortunately a couple of people had recommended Casa Viera so we figured we'd give it a go. So glad we did!

The place was booked out, even at their 730pm opening time so we had to sit on the street. In all honesty, it's where we would have chosen anyway!

Service was quick, polite, engaged, helpful. The waiters spoke perfect English in response to our terrible broken Spanish and we felt comfortable and relaxed.

The baked provolone was outstanding, but the risotto and the braised beef ravioli were a bit underwhelming. Also, they had a few dishes unavailable and when your menu is so limited (6 options for each course), it makes an impact.

Still, cocktails were amazing and the location special....

Cozy small little place with really really good food! I mean the food was super memorable so please go here…you will not be disappointed. The place isn’t very big but it has a really good view of the beach which adds to the amazingness of the place. I tried a couple of dishes (can’t remember the names) but everything was good. The coffee at the end was super smooth and not bitter and they even gave me a free Grappa at the end. I ended up going back again the next night because the food was so good.
